Cordless Optical Trackman review

Introducing the Cordless Optical Trackman: an ergonomic alternative to your mouse.

Offers good control; precise trackball; excellent wireless; large, spacious design takes strain off wrists; attractive tactile surface

Size may deter some; steep learning curve; unattractive; requires additional space for mouse and rather bulky wireless receiver; pricey

Although it has a rather nice tactile finish, the styling is not the best we’ve seen, and it would benefit from a bit of a makeover, especially the position of the buttons. The Trackman requires a slightly ugly wireless base unit to work, although such...

Just fantastic

I have had this mouse for 4 years and all the buttons are still working fine , even with my 2 year old dropping it on the floor quite a few times . It does need cleaning every now and then but its the same with all trackballs. I find this mouse much...

Great for office work, but short-lived

I bought this as an upgrade from my trusty Marble Mouse (which had been used for about 3 years). Feature-wise this mouse is very good, however it's not very good for gaming due to the lag and I'm not thrilled that it died after only a little over a...

Solid layout, comfortable for my "average" sized hand, good assortment of features

Somewhat laggy, and very noticable when gaming (compared to my wired marble mouse). The left-click button also died after a little over a year of use at work

Great Trackball

I think in the four years I had the first one, I changed the batteries twice. At the end, even changing the batteries didn't help, because it would work for a couple minutes, then become erratic, and then stop. If I get another 4 years out of this...

I recently bought a second one of these after the first died. I can't complain, because the first one lasted at least 4 years, and is the most comfortable trackball I've used ; The color changed to be darker than my first one, this one is black, and...

The rf receiver. It's still the old style, and large, especially compared to the unified receiver nub. If it came with one of those I'd have bought about three more for my other computers and a spare. For now I've got the receiver under my desk, so...

Logitech Black/Silver Cordless Optical TrackMan

Like I stated in the cons, It's worse for gaming if upgrading from a different trackball mouse (dropped like 200 ELO in League of Legends). I'm also used to having Mouse button 4 above the left click, And mouse button 5 above the right click. Took some...

Wireless ; It worked instantly after plugging in the mouse tracker. No drivers or setup required for me ; Has a scroll unlike some other trackballs ; Extremely comfortable

A notable difference for gaming. Upgrading from the Logitech Trackman Marble Optical Wired Mouse, You'll definitely notice that one is MUCH easier to game on

Moster Mouse

I've had this for several years and have only switched back to a regular mouse because my wrist couldn't take the thumb-clicking for the left mouse button. I also had the ambidextrous version of the Trackman and it actually seemed more comfortable than...

The design is great. makes the most of your desk space, your hand stays in a comfortable position. If you like using a trackball this is a good one. There are several programmable buttons and the scroll wheel feels solid. It is good for gaming, you can...

Using a trackball can be fidgety at times. They are so sensitive it is hard to smoothly stay put if you rest your fingers on the trackball. The repetitive thumb-clicking for the left mouse click can be painful over time. The track ball inevitably...

got ball?

All in all it was a nice purchase. Wish there were more thumb buttons n less index fng buttons but that is hard to find on any mouse. Was scared to try a trackball but got used to the movement very quickly. After that no problems finding my mark w/the...

5 extra programable buttons (besides L/R/scroll). Uses less desk space and no more bumping into things with or falling off the table with the poor mousey. Or having to adjust the area where the mouse is placed cause you just switched to the other side...

The index finger buttons are a little oddly placed and small for me. the top 1 has to be pressed firmly in order to work on mine. I dont think you can save different settings and switch them on the fly but i guess maybe didnt advertise that. would be...

Logitech Trackballs, need more of them.

I've been using a Logitech Trackman Marble FX for over 10 years. If Logitech ever came out with a new version of that Trackball, I'd buy 20 of them and never have to worry about about another input device again.

It's Logitech, it's a trackball, it's sized just right for most normal sized hand

It's a bit of a challenge for those of us who have larger hands. I dare say that the LMB needs to be slightly more forward in relation to where the trackball is. As it stands now, my hand is actually off center by about 20 degrees to get it to fit...

Works well

If the scroll wheel were half an inch closer to the trackball, this mouse would "feel" much better imo.

Wireless. New. Replaced a 10 year old MS Trackball Explorer

Receiver doesn't work very far. But that's not really a con. Less radio waves bouncing around on our DNA has got to be positive.. right ; Didn't purchase this from Newegg. It all goes to China either way
