If Logitech married the ergonomics of the G500 with the looks and features of the G9x it would have the ideal mouse. Provided you're willing to put up with its minor flaws and limitations, however, the G500 is still an excellent and affordable effort.

There was little we didn’t like about the G500s, nor was it any easy device to find fault with, unless you count odd packaging (we don’t). At a rather reasonable price for a specialty mouse, gamers would be well advised to check it out.

If you loved the G5, you'll continue loving the G500, the natural evolution of Logitech's classic gaming mouse. Though Microsoft brings stiff competition in the form of the Sidewinder X8, which may be more appealing to some.
