Evoluent VerticalMouse 2 (left-handed) review: Evoluent VerticalMouse 2 (left-handed)

Evoluent VerticalMouse 2 (left-handed)

Rare, left-hand-specific design that reduces forearm twisting; features five programmable buttons; useful software for break reminders; includes PS/2 adapter.

Expensive; design causes hand to drag; height hinders movement to and from the keyboard; not wireless.

The Evoluent Left-Handed Vertical Mouse is worth a try for southpaws suffering from RSI-related pain. We just wish it were designed a little better.

Evoluent VerticalMouse 2

The VerticalMouse 2 is designed to ease repetitive stress injuries by eliminating forearm twisting. We found the mouse awkward to use, however, and its flawed operation and design keep us from recommending it.

Ergonomic design reduces forearm twisting; five-button design for programmable commands.

Doesn't register when computer wakes up from sleep mode; faulty scrollwheel; design causes hand to drag.

Although the VerticalMouse 2 eliminates forearm twist--one of many causes of repetitive stress injuries--its awkward feel coupled with design and operational flaws keep us from recommending this mouse.

Usable, far from perfect.

Black surface areas feel nice, slightly rubberized. Buttons feel glossy-slick, which I don't mind but my coworker hates. This mouse is probably worth a lot if you've already got carpal tunnel or whatever, but as someone just using it as a preventive...

Upright style is comfortable once you get used to it. Multiple buttons. Adjustable dpi. Tracks fine on a mousepad. Lightweight for it's bulk, easy to move around.

Scroll wheel tracks poorly/inconsistently regardless of OS settings, and has too much resistance for comfortable spinning. Cursor can drift while the mouse is perfectly still, depending on the surface... maybe my usual surface (plain white printer...

Pretty good

Realy good product

Two so far. I use mine with the laptop, carrying it around. Yesterday one of the buttons fell off. Granted, it wasn't bad, I put it back.

Love this product

It's not a wireless air wand :(

I love having the proper alignment between my wrist and forearm.

it saved my wrist

Two noteworthy problems that aren't completely the mouse's fault: (1) The mouse is naturally a bit tall, which prevents my keyboard tray from fully retracting. (2) I tend to hold my arm lower with this mouse than I did with my previous one--and because...

I bought this mouse when I realized that the tingling and aching in my wrist were symptoms of RSI. Transitioning to this mouse was easy and intuitive. Within a few days my pain was gone, and my accuracy with it was back up to what it was with my old...

My hands are fairly large, and I think this mouse was designed for a slightly smaller hand. To counteract fatigue in my arm I often find myself "palming" the mouse instead of holding it lightly. Similarly, the lip at the bottom of the side with the...
