NEC MultiSync 20WGX2 20.1in widescreen LCD

If you can gloss over the gloss and want a 1,680 x 1,050 widescreen LCD to breathe life into games and movies, then the 20WGX2 could be for you.

Are glossy screen surfaces a dying fad? 18 months ago, glossy panels were popping up all over the shop. Today, this NEC example is one of only two glossy monitors that has really caught our eyes

NEC MultiSync 20WGX2 Pro review

First impressions suggest there's nothing special about the NEC 20WGX2 Pro's design. With a thin silver bezel and black plastic hardware it's not trying to stand out, and the onscreen display (OSD) controls and buttons don't add to the effect.

You won't be disappointed by the image quality or the features of the NEC MultiSync 20WGX2 Pro, and even its OSD is also relatively easy to use. It's not the cheapest monitor you can buy, but it is one of the best 20in monitors available.

Handy joystick-controlled OSD, high-quality glossy display, very fast 6ms response for animation and video, built-in USB, DVI and VGA support

Unexciting looks and plastic build, no height adjust, compression of highlights and lowlights, no portrait mode option

This is an impressive monitor, considering the price. Only a slight hint of compression at dark and light extremes stops it being perfect for video and photography. Otherwise the glossy display looks good and the extra twist on the standard old monitor...

Nec 20WGX², an IPS equivalent to a 2 ms TN (page 1: The wheel turns: IPS super star !) - BeHardware

With the IPS at 6ms, NEC won its bet. This monitor will suit gamers as it's as fast as the 2 ms TN in this domain. It's actually to the credit of LG-Philips as they are the producers of this panel. Well done!Which 20" monitor should we choose today...
