HP ZR30w

The HP ZR30w is a massive 30-inch IPS monitor with an equally massive price tag. It offers good grayscale performance and wide viewing angles but its lack of picture settings and limited video inputs hold it back.

HP ZR30w

The HP ZR30w, a massive 30-inch IPS monitor with an equally massive price tag, offers good grayscale performance and wide viewing angles.

Strong grayscale performance. Wide viewing angles. Built-in USB hub.

No HDMI port. Oversaturated reds. Limited picture settings.

The HP ZR30w offers very accurate grayscale performance and excellent viewing angles, but it comes up short in other areas. Its oversaturated reds are hard to overlook, especially since you can't go in and make the necessary adjustments to tone them...

HP ZR30w review: HP ZR30w

HP ZR30w

The HP ZR30w has excellent performance, high brightness, and ample USB connections.

The HP ZR30w lacks an OSD, limiting its adjustability. Also, compared with other 30-inch monitors, the ZR30w is missing many video connection options.

The HP ZR30w lacks too many features to be competitive with other, lower-priced 30-inchers.

A New 30" Contender: HP ZR30w Review

Recently, HP's performance ZR series of LCD displays have attracted quite a bit of attention. We've heard your comments and pleas for reviews of the 22” and 24” ZR series of HP displays, and those are still very much forthcoming. But for today, we're...

HP ZR30w 30-inch LCD Review

You might recall seeing three of HP's ZR30w 30-inch displays gracing the cover of our September “Dream Machine” issue. Considering our theme for that build was raw, wanton power, picking the ZR30w was an easy decision.

S-IPS panel; great performance with both games and professional applications

No HDMI; no media card reader; doesn't pivot to portrait mode

One of the first things we noticed when we began evaluating the display using DisplayMate Multimedia with Test Photos Edition (www.displaymate.com) was absolutely no backlight leakage anywhere around the perimeter of the screen. The glass itself has a...

HP ZR30w Versus DoubleSight DS-309W, 30-Inch Monitors, Tested

With a steady stream of 27-inch QHD monitors coming through our lab, we thought we'd take a quick break and test two even bigger screens, the 30-inch, 16:10 aspect ratio HP ZR30w and DoubleSight DS-309W. How do these $1000+ stunners compare?

HP ZR30w Monitor – Review

Labelling a display costing more than two grand ˜affordable' may surprise some, but the ZR30w from IT giant HP deserves that label. It's a big boy that measures 30 inches diagonally and comes with a huge 2560 x 1600-pixel resolution.

Fantastic image quality ; 10-bit colour panel ; Good price

Lack of connectors ; No on-screen display ; Not factory calibrated

If you work with pictures and your budget has space, the ZR30w is a top-performing screen you shouldn’t go past.

HP ZR30w 30-Inch S-IPS LCD Monitor Review

How should you go about determining what size monitor to buy? It's simple - go out and purchase the biggest, baddest display you can afford, because really, you only get one shot at this thing called life, so why waste it staring at a 23-inch panel? If...

Competitively priced for a 30-inch panel ; Excellent S-IPS panel ; Great viewing angle ; Easy to rotate, pivot, and adjust the height

No OSD ; Lacks Portrait mode ; Only two conectors (DVI and DisplayPort)

PerformanceSummary: HP's new ZR30w offered exceptional performance in both our task-specific Everest image quality tests, as well as our subjective testing. Color uniformity was spot on, along with brightness and contrast that we've come to expect...
