HP throws its hat in the 30in monitor ring.

The big question is whether HP has done enough to better the Samsung 305T, and in some areas it definitely has. There’s no doubt that the extra connectivity is a real bonus, especially if you have more than one workstation or notebook that need hooking...

When Dell's 3007WFP was the only affordable 30-inch monitor on themarket, it was tempting to forgive the big, beautiful beast its many and manifest faults. However, as a member of the new generation of 30-inchers life is going to be tougher for this HP

Hewlett Packard LP3065

Spring is on the way, but it's still a mite chilly in the office. Thankfully, I'm sitting here writing this review on a beast of a monitor that's radiating enough heat to give me a tan. And it's beautiful

Bigger than some flats we've rented, Vibrant, rich colours

Soooo expensive, A little on the dark side

It's huge, makes gaming an absolute joy and multi-tasking magnificent. Shiny!

HP LP2465 24in flat-panel display

The HP LP2465 is an attractive flat-panel screen with a mighty height-adjustable stand – when the HP is raised to its greatest height it towers over your desktop.

The HP LP2465 is a good-looking and solidly built display with great specifications. There are better options here for games and films, though.

HP LP3065

HP's 30in LCD monitor, the LP3065, produced impressive image quality in our tests. It also has a nice design and unique features that set it apart. Like other 30in displays, it's pricey, but it might be worth it if your work demands lots of screen real...

But the LP3065 costs more than a grand, which is quite a bit for a display. Granted, you do get excellent image quality and lots of room to spread out in and if you crave viewing detail in your photos and documents, the LP3065 might be worth the splurge.

HP LP2065

Good image quality; highly adjustable; four extra USB 2.0 ports; calibration and asset management software included.

Some adjustments are difficult to make smoothly; colors and grays show greenish tints.

The HP LP2065 is viable for business, corporate-office, or no-nonsense home use, but similar LCDs are available for less.

Adding a second monitor to your system allows more flexibility in day-to-day operation as well as more space on your Mac OS X desktop. Macworld takes a look at a selection of worthy displays.

Large screen, solidly built, attractive design, bright, clear and colourful screen image straight out of the box, good menus system for tweaking the output, very fair value

Not much to complain about here, except that stereo speakers cost extra
