BenQ V2400W 24in LCD monitor

We set out to discover if the slimmest 24in LCD monitor in the world can still fit a good panel under its gorgeous hood.

For a 24in designer monitor, BenQ's V2400W is very affordable. And though it is unfortunate that it fails to match its stunning looks and incredibly slender chassis with equally amazing image quality or ergonomics, it still offers a reasonable...

BenQ V2400W review

BenQ isn't a name you'd traditionally associate with aesthetic perfection, but its new BenQ V2400W monitor is a radical attempt by the company to move into a more stylish area of desktop computing.

The BenQ V2400W offers reasonable quality and some great design motifs - it's a real shame that the cheap feeling stand lets it down. Also, we'd like to see more cables included at this sort of price.

Accurate colours; Relatively deep blacks

Viewing angles; AMA induce white trailing (halos)

BenQ V2400W has a TN panel but despite this fact it offers fair picture quality. The colours are not 100 % accurate but neither are they way off. The panel has relatively deep blacks and the picture is not heavily overboosted, which is a plus in my book.

BenQ - V2400W

BenQ has been steadily building a reliable reputation for multifunction monitors that suit a variety of sources, but until recently hasn't given much research and development time to pushing back the style boundaries. However, that changes ...

If you want stylish beauty and slimness in design, then the V2400W is one of the classiest monitors in town. Yet the restrictions on manoeuvrability and less impressive viewing angles and grey scales mean there's still room for improvement.

BenQ V2400W

With the release of Creative Suite 4, the designers amongst us will be looking for the highest quality displays within a reasonable budget to allow the best presentation of your design work. We take a look at six worthy contenders.

Big 24in widescreen display, dynamic processing enables it to punch above its weight, great stylish design

Cheap feeling plastic stand is at odds with the stylish design, lacks bundled cables

The V4200W offers reasonable quality and some great design motifs - it's a real shame that the cheap feeling stand lets it down. Also, we'd like to see more cables included at this sort of price.

Dynamic, streamlined looks enhance this slender 24in screen

With a rated output of 250 cd/m2, this is not the brightest display we have seen although it is more than adequate for most desktop use. Only situations where users are viewing the monitor in well-lit rooms are likely to cause problems

Benq V2400W monitor

Elegance and good quality on a big screen Benq's V2400W monitor looks great, especially when you consider that Benq is not a company previously known for its elegance in design. The bezel is thin,...
