Asus MK241 24in LCD Monitor

With the 24in monitor market growing all the time, can Asus bring something new to the party?

In this screen's defence, the features do, in part make up for the woeful lack of adjustability. You can connect up to three sources to the MK241 via the DVI, HDMI and D-SUB connections - unfortunately there's no component input, so Nintendo Wii owners...

Asus MK241H review

This Asus MK241H offers plenty of connection options and good image quality, but its form and functionality might just leave it collecting dust on store shelves. The MK241 isn't a bad monitor by any means, but it doesn't offer anything special aside...

In short, despite having some fine features, the Asus MK241H faces competition from models with better features and performance.

Asus MK241H

We find out if Asus' high-end 24in TFT can dethrone Samsung's superb SyncMaster 245B.

Of all the 24in TFTs we've seen, none has come close to matching the combination of quality and value offered by the Samsung SyncMaster 245B. The 245B can currently be picked up for a mouth-watering £260, a price no other quality screen has so far...

ASUS MK241H

A large screen with solid image quality

Built-in webcam, fast response time, good contrast

Colours are strongly saturated, speakers are tinny and lack bass

ASUS' MK241H is a solid 24in widescreen display. It has strongly saturated colours and some of its extras, such as the speakers, aren't perfect, but it should satisfy most media and gaming enthusiasts.

Asus MK241H

The MK241H is a decent performer for what it is, but for AU$100 more you could have the vastly superior Dell 2408WFP or Samsung 245T.

Surprisingly good colour and horizontal viewing angles for a TN panel

Poor speakers ; External speaker passthrough doesn't disable monitor speaker ; Headphone passthrough sounds different to direct PC connection ; Better value elsewhere

The MK241H is a decent performer for what it is, but for AU$100 more you could have the vastly superior Dell 2408WFP or Samsung 245T, along with more video inputs, a USB hub, and in the case of the Dell a card reader. We think that's worth the trade...

ASUS MK241 24-inch Widescreen LCD Monitor

The last LCD monitor we took a look at from ASUS was the 22-inch PG221. It was one of the most amazing LCD's that I have seen and if you are a gamer you would definitely love it. One thing that it did lack was a HDMI port. This time around ASUS has...

1920 x 1200 Resolution, - 2ms response time and 3000:1 contrast ratio, - HDMI support, - Integrated webcam

Base does not swivel

ASUS is not a name you normally think about when considering a new LCD, but you need to start thinking of them. Their PG221 gaming LCD is amazing and the MK241 is one of the better 24-inch LCD's I have seen lately.
