The gaming phone - shown here in its red and blue 'Pulse' finish - brings a lot of spec for the money, including a 144Hz fast refresh screen.
Dedicated Game Space switch - good for gaming customisation ; Large and bright and smooth 144Hz screen ; Cooling and battery mean great longevity ; Powerful spec ; Good price point for this specification
Some software hiccups - Android Auto won't work for example ; Barely different to the RedMagic 5G ; Cooling fan noise ; Chunky build ; Limited cameras experience
This gaming phone is an eye-catching gaming great available for a very fair price. But that comes with some compromises when it comes to everyday use.

The Red Magic 5S is an excellent gaming phone, but the meagre upgrades over its predecessor cannot justify this latest release

It's time for a refresh and to improve upon the already great nubia Red Magic 5G. But as the name Red Magic 5S implies, the changes in the new iteration...
Nice build and flashy, gaming-centric design.
Not many games can provide framerates to match screen refresh rate.
And when you account for the still unreliable camera performance, questionable software support, and uninspiring battery life, it's becoming hard to recommend the 5S in the second half of 2020. You might want to hold off to see what the Lenovo Legion...

With a low price, sleek design, and LTE support, the ZTE Nubia 5s mini is an excellent unlocked Android smartphone, especially for those that long for a reasonably sized device.

The RedMagic 5S is a powerful monster for under €600 that embodies the mobile gaming spirit. Here is the complete RedMagic 5S review at NextPit.
Fully functional gaming design ; Snapdragon 865 chipset ; Solid battery life ; Beautiful 144 Hz AMOLED screen ; Useful Game Boost mode ; Good temperature control ; Relatively decent price
Geared towards gaming only ; Poor camera performance ; Poor RedMagic UI 3.0 Interface ; The buttons and accessories are not very ergonomic
If you are looking for an affordable flagship that retails for less than €600, there are obviously better alternatives out there. What I mean is this: there are smartphones at the same price, with similar specifications but offer a far more complete...

Gaming phones are a newer niche for Android devices, and Nubia is one of the companies running headlong into this fledgling field. This past May, we took
Gaming ; This thing chews through games, some of best performance on Android to date ; Screen ; At 144Hz this is the smoothest screen I've used on Android. Colors pop, brightness is uniform without any grainy whites ; Battery life ; Recalls the flip...
Software again ; Buggy, feels incomplete, unpolished. Missing many ease-of use features ; Size ; This is a big boy, it's not ideal for small hands or small pockets ; Cameras ; Will do in a pinch, but there's better software and hardware out there ;...
