ZTE Axon Pro (unlocked) review

When ZTE announced in July that it would begin a new line of marquee handsets, I admit I was skeptical. With a slew of decent but ultimately unmemorable midrange smartphones under its belt, ZTE didn't strike me as a strong contender for the flagship...

The competitively priced ZTE Axon Pro has a crisp display and a stylish design, and its capable dual rear camera comes packed with useful photo tools.

The phone's call volume is low and its battery life is unexceptional.

The ZTE Axon Pro is powerful, stylish and inexpensive, but the OnePlus 2 has a lower price and more compelling features.

ZTE Axon: An amazing $450 phone if only its brain wasn't such a dud [REVIEW]

The ZTE Axon is a great phone with a gorgeous QuadHD display, fast performance, great cameras and good sound, but the processor overheats and ruins it all.

Large, high-resolution QuadHD display ; Long battery ; Good back camera ; Gently curved display edges ; Costs less than other phones with these specs ; Front-facing speaker

Phone runs warm all the time ; Imperfect 'premium' design ; Gimmicky depth-of-field camera ; Thick and heavy

The ZTE Axon Pro could have given more expensive flagship Android phones a run for their money, if the processor didn't overheat.

ZTE Axon Pro review: it's hard for a smartphone to stand out

There's never been a better time to be in the market for a new smartphone, especially an Android phone. Yes, you could have probably said that every year since the dawn of the smartphone — that's...

Fast performance ; Good battery life ; Fast charging

Ho-hum design ; Average camera ; Weird software tweaks

The Axon Pro is ZTE's best phone yet, but it falls short of the competition (review)

With its 13-megapixel camera, octa-core processor and affordable price tag, ZTE's Axon Pro aims high. But does it offer enough against its competitors?

The competitively priced ZTE Axon Pro has a crisp display and a stylish design, and its capable dual rear camera comes packed with useful photo tools.

The phone's call volume is low and its battery life is unexceptional.

The ZTE Axon Pro is powerful, stylish and inexpensive, but the OnePlus 2 has a lower price and more compelling features.

ZTE Axon Pro ( phthalo blue)

But with the Axon Pro, its inaugural flagship device, I stand corrected. Sporting a Snapdragon 810 processor, a sharp 1440p display and a dual rear-facing camera, the unlocked handset boasts powerful specs at an ultracompetitive $500 price. (Especially...

ZTE Axon Pro (Unlocked)

The ZTE Axon Pro is a commanding multimedia smartphone at a more-affordable-than-usual price.

Fast processor. Great audio and video playback. Tons of LTE bands.

Very heavy. Runs warm. A bit of bloatware.

Comparisons and Conclusions A few months ago, the Axon Pro would have been considered a major step forward in the unlocked phone market. It's more expensive, but also more powerful, than the Editors' Choice Alcatel One Touch Idol 3, and makes a nice...

With the recent introduction of its new flagship line here for the US, the ZTE Axon Pro is undoubtedly the result of many years of ambitious planning. Boasting a specs sheet that impresses on all fronts, the other remarkable part of this phone is the...

Earpiece placement is awkward ; No support for CDMA networks ; Available with only one storage option; 32GB ; HDR mode softens details and makes photos look too artificial ; Automatic mode produces soft looking photos under low light
