ZTE Axon 7 review

The Axon 7 wants to be your Samsung Galaxy S7 and iPhone 7 replacement

Inexpensive yet well-designed ; Generous 64GB of internal storage ; Awesome dual front-facing speakers

Slippery in the hand ; Not on all US carriers ; Doesn't match Samsung's camera

ZTE Axon 7 is less expensive than the best flagship smartphones, yet it looks and performs like a top-tier Android Nougat handset, with front-facing speakers, 64GB of storage and only a few sacrifices.

ZTE Axon 7 review

You have to admire ZTE's effort. Its Axon 7 is the best looking and most powerful phone the Chinese company has made to date. Its super speedy processor performs just as fast as the flagship devices of Samsung, LG and Google -- a testament to how far...

The sophisticated and affordable ZTE Axon 7 has a zippy processor, expandable storage and loud speakers.

The phone is heavy and power users won't appreciate the non-removable battery.

The Axon 7 is ZTE's best to date, but the OnePlus 3 is a better phone at the same price.

ZTE's Axon 7 is a $400 champ that easily competes with Samsung

Second time's a charm for ZTE's Axon line.

Budget-friendly ; Flagship caliber ; Solid battery life ; Sharp screen

Lockscreen navigation needs refining ; Camera speed suffers in low-light

ZTEs Axon 7 offers top-of-the line features for a lot less than Samsung’s best offering.

ZTE Axon 7 review: The brightest sound

ZTE is back in the cheap and cheerful flagship race with the Axon 7. The company has its aim set up high, and we can't help but see the OnePlus 3 as a locked target. The thing is, the Axon 7 has a potential to aim for the stars of the show - the Galaxy...

ZTE Axon 7

The ZTE Axon is a $400 unlocked Android phone that looks and performs like phones that cost nearly twice as much.

Relatively affordable. Sleek metal design. Crisp Quad HD display. Booming speakers. Expandable storage. Fingerprint sensor, NFC, and dual-band Wi-Fi. Google Daydream-ready.

Heavy custom UI layer. Low-light camera performance isn't the best.

Conclusions The ZTE Axon 7 is a lot of phone for a lot less money than the competition. For $400 you get a premium metal design, a top-of-the-line processor, a Quad HD display, and support for all the major US carriers. There is no other phone on the...

ZTE Axon 7 review: ZTE's best yet, but no match for the OnePlus 3

In both design and hardware performance, the Axon 7 is ZTE's best phone to date. But there are better alternatives.

ZTE Axon 7 review: Is ZTE dumping old stock on Australia?

An overpriced 2016 Android smartphone launched in 2017

Few weaknesses ; Daydream VR compatible

Overpriced ; Launched June 2016 ; Low-light camera issues

The ZTE Axon 7 does little wrong, but it launched overseas many months ago and, at this high price, there are many better choices to be made.

ZTE Axon 7 Smartphone Review

Heir to the throne? With the Axon 7, ZTE is about to reach for the smartphone crown. Besides top performance and superb equipment, the 5.5-inch, high-end Android impresses with its Dolby Atmos sound system, which can fill a room with sound.

Android 6.0 ; QHD AMOLED panel ; USB Type-C ; fingerprint scanner ; very good camera module ; very high performance ; no throttling ; superb Dolby Surround sound ; Quick Charge feature

Unusual MiFavor 4.0 UI ; USB 2.0 speed only ; PWM flickering ; non-removable battery ; only mediocre battery life

ZTE has not promised too much: The Axon 7 easily matches upper-range smartphones, such as Samsung's Galaxy S7 even if ultimately it cannot quite pull level to such devices. ZTE's smartphone does not have the final feature polishing for this - a faster...
