Xiaomi Mi 5

The Samsung Galaxy S7, LG G5 and HTC 10 are all great phones. No doubt about it. But, they're also expensive. You'll need to shell out at least £500 to buy each device outright or pay £40 a month as part of contract. But what if you could get a handset...

Xiaomi Mi5 review

A beautiful phone at a beautiful price

Beautiful, premium design ; Low cost ; Excellent camera

Not stocked by networks ; No expandable storage ; User interface could be clearer

This phone looks great, feels great and has the spec list to match - with a price that's hard to believe. Sadly, it looks like distribution will be limited, but we can hope...

Xiaomi Mi 5 review: Is it worth the hype? review

Great flagship phone with some flaws

Crisp 1080p display ; Sleek and attractive design ; Good camera performance ; Decent battery life

No microSD card support ; Software glitches ; Heating issues

Xiaomi Mi 5 is capable enough to deliver a flagship performance but there are some noticeable flaws that are stopping us for crowing this as the best smartphone! Xiaomi took two years to come out with the Mi 5. While the smartphone is a value for money...

Xiaomi Mi 5 review: Extraordinary value Android phone rivals Galaxy S7

The Mi 5 sits at the top of Xiaomi's Android phone line, where its devilishly fast performance and great all-round design place it as a true competitor to the likes of the S7, G5 and iPhone 6s - at half the price! Read our full Xiaomi Mi 5 review for...

A fantastic Android flagship that comes in at an outrageously low price, the Xiaomi Mi 5 has the braun and the beauty to match the greats. Perhaps not a wise choice for first time Android users, but those comfortable in customising the setup will love...

Xiaomi Mi 5 review: This fantastic phone gives Samsung S7's a run for its money

Xiaomi's impressive Mi 5 is just as powerful as its top-end Android rivals, at half the price. It's a shame it's only officially available in China and India.

The Xiaomi Mi 5 has a sleek, lightweight design with a beautiful finish that's as good as any high-end phone. Great camera and dual-SIM features will let you use this as a travel phone too. It's top-of-the-line hardware at a low price.

There's no microSD card slot like the Samsung Galaxy S7, or removable battery like the LG G5.

Xiaomi's impressive Mi 5 has the features to stand up against the very best, but it's a shame it won't be officially available worldwide.

Xiaomi Mi5

Stylish and filled with great specs - for R8000? Xiaomi has themselves a winner with the Mi5 (but it's still a bit buggy).

Fast, Stylish, Thin Bezel, MIUI is great, Strong Camera, Cloud-backup, Right Price

Still buggy at present with calls missed and phone not always cooperating, Slippery on surfaces, No MicroSD

The one massive benefit is off course the Xiaomi Mi5’s price. Pegged at R8 000, what you get for your bucks simply cannot be beat. It’s a top performing flagship which should put doubters firmly in their place, providing strong specs, and not just...

Xiaomi Mi 5 review: Time-saver edition

Xiaomi surely took the time to make the Mi 5 worthy of its name. And Xiaomi Mi 5 sets the bar even higher! The Mi 5 was the first Xiaomi phone to be unveiled under the massive spotlight of the world's biggest mobile expo - the MWC in Barcelona.

A stunning looker. ; The display is great ; The Snapdragon 820 chipset offers stellar performance ; Battery life is excellent ; Camera photos are absolutely great

Xiaomi Mi 5 ( white)

The result? The Mi 5 is terrific, especially when you consider that Xiaomi's new flagship phone costs significantly less than the Samsung Galaxy S7 and LG G5 , without compromising on its most important features. It's fast and has a good camera. And...

Xiaomi Mi 5 review: an alarmingly good smartphone

2016 is shaping up to be a great year for smartphones and the Xiaomi Mi 5 embodies many of the best trends that we can look forward to. Like Samsung's Galaxy S7, the Mi 5 is a handsome mix of the latest specs and Android software.

Raises the bar for cheap phones in a big way ; Zero worries about performance or battery life ; Software additions are smart and helpful

Some fit and finish concerns ; Image quality is a step below the best ; Not available in the US or Europe
