Unihertz Atom review

A smartphone that sits proudly in its own category

Excellent all-round performance ; Great construction ; Very good promo price ; NFC and dual 4G standby

Screen is too small ; Battery capacity is tiny ; No 802.11ac Wi-Fi ; No status lights

The Unihertz Atom focuses on a niche audience, one that understands the shortcomings of such a form factor. If you can live with the small screen and don’t mind the short-ish battery life, then this rugged device is unbeatable.

Unihertz Atom review

Don't underestimate its size. The Unihertz Atom is the perfect smartphone for outdoor weekend trips.

Excellent battery ; Solid performance ; Simple software, useful tools ; Compact and portable size ; Rugged, durable, and water resistant

Subpar screen ; Mediocre camera ; Difficult to type on small screen

The Unihertz Atom delivers zippy performance, simple Android software, and excellent battery life. Its screen and camera are mediocre, but if you can look past them, this is a perfect little companion to take on outdoor trips over the weekend.

The Unihertz Atom is the best tiny phone available right now, and it's a significant step up beyond the company's previous phone, the Jelly Pro. It also outpaces the adorable but limited Palm phone as a secondary, "digital detox" device because it has...

Unihertz Atom hands-on: Rugged tiny 4G smartphone keeps you connected in the field for less than $300

Unihertz had a very successful campaign for the Jelly phone in 2017 and is following that up with a rugged variation that I have been testing for the past week.
