Sony Xperia Go

A rugged Android phone that's not ugly or fat.

Waterproof to 1m, Good-looking design, Expandable memory, Fairly nippy

Unimpressive camera, Low-res screen

Sony Xperia Go review

Can Sony's Go Go gadget phone make a splash?

Stunning design ; Rugged IP67 certification ; Largely impressive camera ; Speedy, easy internet ; Broad media capabilities

No physical camera button ; No auto spacing in gesture control ; Speaker placement ; Slight lag ; Stiff connection covers

Buying GuideBest Android phone Sony's first rugged handset since ditching Ericsson as its mobile phone partner, the Sony Xperia Go has taken a number of design hints from its fellow Android-filled, Xperia-branded siblings, lining up with an appealing...

Sony Xperia Go

The Sony Xperia Go wants to be the action phone in your life. It bears some of the hallmarks of Sony Ericsson, with that company's roundel on the rear, but otherwise comes decked out like the latest Sony Mobile devices. The Android market is stuffed...

Waterproofing, nice design, camera interface works nicely, microSD card slot

Low screen resolution, not hugely powerful, software and user interface could be more up to date

The Android market is stuffed full of phones with plenty of options on offer. The Sony Xperia Go sits somewhere just below the mid range. The dual-core processor is welcomed, but the low screen resolution is somewhat prehistoric and limited RAM doesn't...

Sony Xperia Go video review

It's a square-looking phone, much like Sony's other recent Xperia handsets but minus the clear light-up plastic strip downstairs. The rear and sides are made up by a single removable cover and the front is scratch-resistant glass. Around the plastic...

Sony Xperia Go review

The specifications start well: a 1GHz ARM Cortex-A9 dual-core processor (the same found in the more expensive Xperia P), 512MB RAM, 8GB internal storage and a 5Mp camera.

The Xperia Go is a compact and robust smartphone perfect for those who need a phone capable of taking a battering. It doesn’t offer anything special in the way of hardware or software but a promised upgrade makes this a reasonable package for £250.

Sony Xperia go review

The go's hidden toughphone features might just give it the edge over the equally water-friendly Panasonic Eluga and the cheap, rugged Motorola Defy+

All the tough credentials of the Xperia active mixed with Sony's new smartphone style

Sony Xperia Go for Underwater Adventures

The design is probably the most interesting and novel feature of this phone. And yes, mostly because the design and display have been crafted keeping underwater technology in mind. If you are more into the ‘wow-ness' of a phone in terms of looks, then...

The phone comes packed with Android 2.3 Gingerbread and has HSDPA, WiFi, and Bluetooth. The battery is 1350mAh which is pretty standard. So all in all, the phone is like any standard Android. Nothing to speak so highly of other then the cool underwater...

Sony Xperia Go

The Sony Xperia Go is a petite Android smartphone with toughness in stark contrast to its attractive looks. Its IP67 resistance rating means it shrugs off water and dust with ease, and you can even use its scratch resistant 3.5-inch screen with wet...

The Sony Xperia Go is quite the looker, and under the bonnet it’s packing all the right hardware: it’s simply an added bonus that the whole affair is water and dust resistant. However, unless you’re spectacularly butterfingered or work on an oil rig,...
