Sony Ericsson Xperia ray

Sony Ericsson's Xperia ray is a compact Android smartphone that still manages to pack in plenty of features, including an 8.1 megapixel camera with HD video recording.

Excellent call quality, Neat, compact design, Great quality stills photos

Short battery life, HD video recording is disappointing, Small screen hampers the web browser

Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray review

The power of the Xperia Arc in a small and sleek chassis

Great battery life ; Truly amazing screen ; Blisteringly fast web browser with Flash ; Quick GPS action ; 8MP camera with HD video

Keyboard can be fiddly ; Camera a bit of a letdown ; Timescape erratic ; Maximum of five home screens available ; Office Suite should be pro version

It's been a busy old year for Sony Ericsson. As it struggles to regain a foothold in the market it was once sucha major player in, it's been firing out more Android-based Xperia smartphones than long-lost relatives on an episode of Jeremy Kyle. And...

Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray review

The Android 2.3 Gingerbread powered Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray hits unexpected heights by showing that size most definitely isn't everything, defying its small size with a powerhouse under the hood.

Speedy ; Strong audio ; Responsive display

Lack of physical camera button ; Sluggish to home screen ; Still not a brilliant range

Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray

Small phones seem to have gone out of fashion. A few years ago, before the iPhone, manufacturers were falling over themselves to miniaturise their handsets. Now though, smartphones are all the rage, and with that comes the need for ever larger screens....

Small, light, good battery, amazing screen, reasonable price

Perhaps not ideal for larger hands, stock keyboard isn't good

There is virtually nothing we don't love about the Ray. It's compact, light with a mammoth battery that will get you through a whole day on a single charge - as long as you're a little careful. What's more, the screen is gorgeous, with exquisite detail...

Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray Review

The Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray has an 8.1-megapixel camera, runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread and is available in a range of colours.

We were pleasantly surprised with the Xperia Ray. Expecting a plasticky, miniaturised Xperia Arc wannabe, what Sony Ericsson have made here is perhaps what the Xperia Neo should have been. Noticeably smaller than the Xperia Arc, arguably as thin, and...

Sony Xperia Ray Review: In Depth

The Xperia Ray lands itself smack in the middle of Sony Ericsson's smartphone range; with a footprint almost precisely between the Xperia Mini and Xperia Arc, but without the former's excessive thickness,…

Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray review

Smart phones seem to keep getting fatter as they pack in moreand more functions, and bigger screens to make the most of them. But the Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray bucks the trend by slimming downto a slivery 9mm thick, yet still sports a powerful processor...

Sleek, slim good looks, terrifically sharp screen, 8.1 megapixelcamera with Exmor sensor, well featured music player

Slim screen won't suit everyone

The small screen feels like a limitation, but if you canlive with it, there's plenty to like about the Xperia Ray,including its sleek good looks, fast operation and impressivecamera.

Sony Ericsson XPERIA ray Review

Here we are at the end of another review and I have really enjoyed writing this one also because this phone has surprised me in so many ways and disappointed me in very few to be honest so I have to say it has been one of my favourite reviews to date.
