Sanyo Katana Eclipse

Sanyo livens up an average-quality flip phone with flashing, colored, customizable lights.

Fun flashing lights on phone's front. Extremely loud speakerphone. Parental controls.

Harsh voice quality. Lousy music app.

Sanyo Katana LX

The Sanyo Katana LX for Sprint is shiny and slick, but its performance doesn't live up to its good looks.

Good reception. Impressive voice dialing. Bluetooth.

Harsh voice quality. Front screen is difficult to see. Fewer features than are offered by competitors.

Sanyo Katana LX review

Sanyo and Sprint launched two Katana flip phones a year ago, dubbed the Katana DLX and the Katana II . Both handsets followed the first Sanyo Katana released about two years ago, which was nothing more than a scaled-down Razr competitor. The Katana DLX...

The Sanyo Katana LX has an attractive translucent OLED display and a mirror-finish exterior. Features include Bluetooth, voice dialing, and GPS functionality. It has excellent performance as well.

The Sanyo Katana LX has a lackluster screen and disappointing photo quality.

The Sanyo Katana LX is a decent entry-level camera phone for its price range.

Sprint PCS Vision Phone Katana By Sanyo

The Katana trades metal for plastic, but the screen is even sharper than the iconic RAZR's.

Most RAZR-like design for Sprint. High-res screen. Good gaming performance.

Harsh voice quality at high volumes.

Sanyo 6600 Katana review: Sanyo 6600 Katana

Sanyo 6600 Katana

The Sanyo 6600 Katana has a slim silhouette and offers a VGA camera, Bluetooth, a speakerphone, text messaging, voice dialing, a voice recorder, and a wireless Web browser. It has a large external screen.

The Sanyo 6600 Katana's feature set is rather underwhelming and doesn't have 3G support like many of its slim counterparts. It also suffers from flat keys that are slippery and difficult to dial by feel.

The Sanyo 6600 Katana pales in comparison to the Motorola Razr and the Samsung MM-A900 in terms of design and features. But on its own, it's a pretty good midtier phone.
