Samsung Galaxy S6 Active review

Samsung's best Android phone – only harder to break

Water resistant and dustproof ; Same camera as Galaxy S6 ; Nearly identical specs, too ; Extra long battery life

Camo colors are ugly ; No microSD card slot ; No fingerprint sensor ; AT&T only

Samsung Galaxy S6 Active's reinforced hard plastic is the humvee to the Galaxy S6's fragile, sports car-like frame. It's fun to use underwater and has a long battery life, but the camo colors are ugly and it's only on AT&T.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Active rumored as AT&T exclusive

Ma Bell could get first, and perhaps exclusive, dibs on the waterproof variant of the new Samsung flagship smartphone.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Active: The most utilitarian Android smartphone [REVIEW]

Samsung's rugged and water-resistant Galaxy S6 Active isn't the prettiest Android phone, but it's got plenty of power and very long battery life.

Powerful performance ; Pretty QuadHD display ; Fantastic camera ; Really long battery life ; Rugged body and water-resistant

No fingerprint sensor ; AT&T-exclusive in U.S.

The Galaxy S6 Active isn't as sleek as the GS6, but it's ruggedness, water-resistance and long-lasting battery make it Samsung's most utilitarian smartphone.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Active camo white

Cloaked in blue or gray camouflage or all-black, the Active series evokes a sense of combat against day-to-day spills, drops and breaks, while also appealing to a class of people who engage in "active" lifestyles.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 Active's long-lived battery and resistance to water, dust and scuffs make it more appealing than the regular Galaxy S6. Its shortcut button conveniently launches two different apps of your choice.

Built of plastic with thick edging, the S6 Active isn't a particularly attractive device, certainly not as glamorous as metal or glass phones. No expandable storage option means you're locked to 32GB.

AT&T customers looking for a sturdier handset will find the Galaxy S6 Active a worthy upgrade to an already top-caliber phone.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Active (AT&T)

The Samsung Galaxy S6 Active adds above-average durability and extended battery life to the already-excellent S6 smartphone formula.

Excellent performance. Top-notch display and camera. Great battery life. Rugged, waterproof build.

Middling call quality. No fingerprint scanner.

Conclusions The Samsung Galaxy S6 Active will appeal greatly to those who didn't find anything wrong with last year's Galaxy S5. It trades metal and glass for more durable plastic and waterproofing, beauty be damned. And the beefed-up battery will help...

Samsung Galaxy S6 Active Review

Today we review the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active from AT&T. This device takes the innards of the Galaxy S6, expanding the exterior bits to make a device that's resistant to the elements as well as shock. You can drop this one. While the original Galaxy...

There’s a whole lot to love about the Galaxy S6 Active. If you’re not about the elegant look of the Galaxy S6/Edge and you want the utility of a device with three extra hardware buttons. the Active is the device for you. We wouldn’t be surprised if...

Samsung Galaxy S6 Active Review

Since the S4 we've seen Sammy introducing its Active line, which manifests in the form of ruggedized variants of its flagship phones. So, if you were bummed by the S6 forgoing a water resistant construction, then you'll undoubtedly be pleased to find...

Water and shock resistant construction ; Incredibly long lasting battery life ; microUSB port has been treated for liquid contact ; Camera captures amazing photos and videos ; Strong earpiece volume ; Accurate Super AMOLED display

Less appealing looking design ; Activity Zone still lacks any serious usefulness ; Still no expandable storage ; Average call quality

When the Samsung Galaxy S6 was announced, we were astounded by the new, premium design – a stark departure from previous efforts. In the process, though, the S5’s water resistant quality was left out, in favor of a more premium finish. Still, while we...

Samsung Galaxy S6 Active [Review]

As the cycle has been since the Galaxy S4, Samsung will release its flagship then an Active version a month or two later and exclusive to AT&T. Last year when the Galaxy S5 Active came out while I always been a fan of the line it didn't hold as much...

Once you get it in your hands its hard to not like the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active. It has a nice sized battery, carries just about all the pluses of the flagship of the Samsung Galaxy S6 model with very minuses since as its build design and fingerprint...

Review: Samsung Galaxy S6 Active

TechSpective reviews the Galaxy S6 Active--a dust, shock, temperature, and waterproof version of the Samsung Galaxy S6 smartphone.

If you want a Galaxy S6 with better battery life and armored to withstand just about any environment or abuse you can throw at it the Galaxy S6 Active is an awesome smartphone. Unfortunately it's an AT&T exclusive.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Active Review

For the most part, the S6 Active is a clone of the Galaxy S6 featuring the same 5.1-inch 1440p display, Exynos 7420 SoC inside, and 16-megapixel optically stabilized camera. But where they differ is in design. The S6 Active is better suited to survive...

Tough, rugged exterior removes the need for a case. Outstanding battery life. The same great hardware as the Galaxy S6, including an awesome display and camera, and top-notch performance.

Rugged design isn’t a sleek as the metal Galaxy S6 body. No microSD card slot, and just 32 GB of internal storage. Hard to find outside the United States.

There is a lot to like about the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active, and for a certain subset of the population, it might be an even better choice than the already-fantastic
