Samsung Galaxy Edge

Samsung's curved phone is a glimpse of the future, not the here and now.

Still has the same gorgeous screen as the Note 4 ; Strong all-round camera performance ; Great for gaming

Curved screen is not very useful ; Battery life is less than Note 4 ; Very expensive SIM-free

So, what happens when you add an extra curved screen to an otherwise great one? Well, aside from working independently from the main display from a software point of a view, not a great deal. There's no discernible difference between the two.

Samsung Galaxy Note Edge review

A proof of concept rather than a fully fledged device

Innovative curved display ; Excellent QHD screen ; Full of features

S Pen still questionable ; Only a day of battery life ; Struggles with high performance

A superb-looking handset that offers something brand-new, but there's still a way to go for the curved, second screen experience.

Samsung Galaxy Note Edge review: The edge of excellence

When we first saw the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge we thought of it as a design showcase; a "look at what we can do" smartphone with greater precedence given to its show-off factor than to usability. Why else have a modified Galaxy Note 4 with a single...

A showcase of what’s possible in phone design, edge screen operation far more useful/interesting than anticipated, great screen, powerful, decent camera, multi-tasking via multi-window and S Pen stylus included

Battery not as good as Note 4, button arrangement shortcomings, a fingerprint magnet, rear plastic build quality, some multi-tasking shortcomings, third-party edge panel apps to be proven, expensive

The Samsung Galaxy Note Edge is certainly a spectacle that will turn heads, and while we still can't see it taking off as the next big thing in terms of volume sales, it's a mighty fine modification of the Galaxy Note 4. We thought the Edge would be...

Hands-on: Samsung Galaxy Note Edge review: The Note 4 with curved screen edge in surprise Unpacked unveil - Pocket-lint

The big news from Samsung Unpacked 2014 in Berlin is the flagship Galaxy Note 4. But with that came a bit of a surprise: the curved-edge Samsung Galaxy

Samsung Galaxy Note Edge vs iPhone 6 Plus comparison review

The Galaxy Note Edge broke the mould with the introduction of its edge display, enabling users to interact with their smartphones in a new and interesting way. But how does it compare to Apple's first phablet, the iPhone 6 Plus? Both have similar...

Samsung's Galaxy Note Edge certainly brings something new and unique to the table. The Edge is a great addition to the Note series and the camera captures fantastically detailed photos. While the graphic performance may not be as great as the iPhone 6...

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge vs Galaxy Note Edge comparison review

The Galaxy S6 Edge will arrive in the UK on 10 April with a price tag £760 so it's a pricey phone to say the least. However, some retailers are touting a more stomachable price of £699. See: Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge release date, price & specs.

Although the Galaxy S6 Edge has some better hardware than the Note Edge and a nicer design we don't think it's worth the large sum of money extra - perhaps when the price drops. Unless you're left handed, the Galaxy Note Edge does the feature better.

Samsung Galaxy Note Edge review

At IFA 2014 Samsung introduced, alongside the expected Galaxy Note 4, the Galaxy Note Edge - a smartphone which wasn't leaked and offers a new take on the curved screen. Here's our Samsung Galaxy Note Edge full in-depth review. Also see 41 best...

The Galaxy Note Edge is one of the most interesting smartphones around and while the edge screen is genuinely useful at times, it also remains a slight gimmick. Hardware is top notch and although we dislike the faux leather, build quality is good. The...

Samsung Galaxy Note Edge Review: In Depth

The Samsung Galaxy Note Edge is the first consumer-ready smartphone to make curved screen tech useful. But is it actually any good? Alex Todd finds out...

Innovative, beautiful display ; Excellent performance ; Best-in-class connectivity

Poor support for Edge Screen ; Awkward ergonomics ; Expensive

The biggest barrier for the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge is that it’s one of the most expensive handsets on the market right now, especially if you want it free on a contract, but it’s a device that needs to exist whether you think it makes sense or not..

Samsung Galaxy Note Edge review

Samsung's edgy new design makes curves work in new and interesting ways

Curve has genuine value ; Good camera ; Feature-packed and powerful

Very expensive ; Battery life isn’t great ; A very wide mobile

Distinctive but not crazy, the Note Edge is next-gen design that works – with caveats

Samsung Galaxy Note Edge review: Breaking the mold and the bank in the quest for curve

What's it really like using the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge's funky curved screen? Read CNET's full, rated review to find out.

The Samsung Galaxy Note Edge's curved, asymmetrical shape and brand-new interface deliver a cutting-edge design that really lives up to its name.

It's wider and much pricier than the Note 4 without dramatically increasing the phone's functionality. You'll have to adapt to navigating from a second screen.

Samsung's swooshing Galaxy Note Edge is a triumph of novel design, but its high price tag and minimal extra usability make for a niche appeal.
