Samsung Galaxy Note 7

Big phones weren't big until the original Samsung Galaxy Note came along. Its radical resizing of the smartphone was bonkers to some, but a revelation to others.

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 review

An excellent phone with a fatal flaw

Elegant, water-resistant design ; Top notch camera ; New S Pen functionality

Prone to overheat ; Extremely expensive ; Touchy capacitive buttons

The Galaxy Note 7 took Samsung's best phone to date, the S7 Edge, stretched it to a 5.7-inch curved display and added an S Pen stylus. It has the same top-of-the-line camera and specs, but was meant for big hands with equally big wallets....

A phone with a fatal flaw - the Note 7 could have been great, but it's now no more and we don't recommend you buy it

The Galaxy Note 7 has been recalled and we don't recommend you buy it - which is a shame, because it could have been a great phone

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 review: Take note, this is the big-screen phone to beat

The Samsung Note family is characterised by one thing: the inclusion of a stylus (that's S Pen in Samsung speak). That the Note 7 is a remarkable phone won't come as a surprise to fans of the series. Time and again, this larger format device has found...

Display and HDR potential, design and build quality, software refinement, great camera, S Pen feels natural and adds plenty of useful features that define the phone

Sound quality from those speakers, price point is obviously prohibitive for many, iris scanner of little use given how good the fingerprint scanner is

That the Note 7 is a remarkable phone won't come as a surprise to fans of the series. Time and again, this larger format device has found fame for all the right reasons. For 2016 the Note 7 no longer feels like the freakishly large phone the series...

Samsung Galaxy Note 7: A promising phone hobbled by ongoing safety issues

We loved our first few weeks with the Galaxy Note 7, but its ongoing safety issues make it impossible to recommend.

The Galaxy Note 7 is a beautiful, capable Android phone that showcases Samsung's best in design, battery life, speed and features. The 64GB base model leaves you plenty of space for photos, videos and games.

We just can't trust the hardware, given the ongoing reports of battery fires.

Don't buy the Galaxy Note 7, and return it if you've already bought it.
