Hands-on: Oppo Reno 4 Pro Review | Trusted Reviews

Oppo has had a stellar 2020 so far, with its Find range knocking it out of the park. Now, the Reno range is back with the Oppo Reno 4 Pro.

Oppo Reno 4 Pro 5G review: Classy mid-ranger

In terms of design there's little to rival the top-tier Reno. Indeed it can hold its own against a Samsung Galaxy. But is the price just too high?

Impressive sleek and slim build for a 5G phone ; 90Hz AMOLED display is lovely ; Stylish design ; Snapdragon 765G processor is quick and reliable ; Silly-fast charging speeds

Price is quite high considering the overall spec ; Seems very similar to the Oppo Find X2 Neo ; No wireless charging here ; Graphics aren't always super polished in all games

The mid-range market is really heating up this year, and Oppo is constantly refreshing its offering to stay on top. The Reno 4 Pro is a really attractive option, too, although its slightly high price point may push people towards a cheaper option.

Oppo Reno 4 Pro review

Almost Flagship

Very fast charging ; Gorgeous screen ; Great cameras

No wireless charging ; Midrange power ; Too expensive

At £699, the Reno 4 Pro charges big bucks for midrange power, but if you can get past that, its design, camera, screen, and very nippy charging delight

Oppo Reno4 Pro review: Made for Gen Z and social media content creators

Reno2 launched with Snapdragon 730G and a year later, Reno4 Pro debuts with a Snapdragon 720G?! It's confusing, we know. Hit the link to find out what we think of Oppo's latest camera-oriented phone!

Quad-camera setup with fun camera features ; Slim and light ; Blazingly fast charging ; Brilliant and responsive display ; Under-display fingerprint sensor ; 256GB storage and expandable

Noisy imaging quality even in daylight ; High asking price and competitive landscape ; Still using a mid-range processor ; Older Reno models could be better than the Reno4 Pro in some ways

Oppo Reno4 Pro review

Dare we say we're seeing a sensible pattern in a phone maker's naming scheme in 2020? Earlier this year, Oppo had the Reno3 family, in it a vanilla model...

Very lightweight and fairly compact for the screen size and battery capacity.

All plastic build makes it light, but it's not too premium.

If you want to be gaming hard on mobile for a reasonable price, a Snapdragon 855 handset will do much better. The recent S765 offerings will net you 5G and a smaller performance boost. If none of that really matters to you, the Reno4 Pro will likely...

Oppo Reno 4 Pro review: A mid-range smartphone with a premium feel

Oppo's Reno 4 Pro excels as a mid-range device and gets you a premium-looking smartphone, but needs some polish when it comes to the camera.

Design ; Display ; Battery life ; Fast charging ; Video recording

Macro Camera ; Night mode

OPPO Reno 4 Pro Review – Killer charging

The availability of components like Qualcomm's Snapdragon 700 series and Sony's IMX586 has become a double-edged sword for phone makers. On the one hand, these have made often high-end …

Good mid-range performance ; Textured glass for a confident hold and fewer fingerprints ; Extremely fast charging ; Decent but unimpressive camera output

Not 5G-ready ; Doesn't easily stand out in the market

Oppo Reno4 Pro review

Oppo is the next far-eastern rising star on the mobile horizon and the goal is obviously to catch up with Huawei and Xiaomi. Oppo is doing this by trying to push innovations like periscope cameras, in-display fingerprint scanners, and, of course, Super...

Attractive design despite the plastic back; Solid build quality; Great display; Snappy performance; 65W Super VOOC fast charging; Decent battery life; Lightweight; 8GB/128GB base model

The back is plastic (no way around it); Limited availability; No stereo speakers; Disappointing camera performance

Oppo Reno4 Pro review

You would be very happy to own a Reno4, thanks to a smooth user experience. But it lacks the lethal edge that it needs to be a contender among many other excellent phones at its price.

Superfast charging ; Distinctive but comfortable design ; Good display and audio

Older software ; Average performance

It's unfortunate that the Reno4 didn't hit the U.K. market earlier in the year. If it had arrived shortly after the OnePlus 8, and before we had a summer and fall of strong midrange phones like the OnePlus Nord and Pixel 4a 5G, then Oppo’s phone would...

Oppo Reno 4 Pro review

Can flagship design and fast charging save the pricey midrange Oppo Reno 4 Pro?

Beautifully thin and tapered design ; Charges in under 40 minutes ; Lots of storage

Low horsepower for gaming ; Competent, not class-leading camera ; Expensive

The Oppo Reno 4 Pro is one of the thinnest phones around, and combines that litheness with premium design, a competent camera system, and a stunning screen. While it definitely isn’t without its highlights, costing £699 (roughly $900), it’s the most...
