OnePlus 5

OnePlus 5 review: Do dual-cameras and loads of RAM make this the best OnePlus yet? Or does the higher price mean it's no longer the best deal in tech?

Fantastic software ; Not as cheap as previous models, but still great value ; Dash Charge is great ; Dual cameras work well

Missing some higher-end features ; Poor Wi-Fi and audio performance

2017 flagships have been pushing the boundaries in lots of areas, but battery life isn’t really one of them. Ever since the Note 7 started combusting, it seems that advances in battery tech and capacity have taken a back seat. It’s a similar story for...

Dual-lens camera and top dog for performance

Premium design and feel ; Fantastic camera ; Phenomenal performance

Pricier than previous iterations ; Only Full HD display ; No microSD support

The OnePlus 5 may not be as cheap as the company's previous handsets, but it's one of the best phones on the market right now. A great camera, phenomenal performance and a premium design combine to make this a fantastic buy for anyone looking for a...

OnePlus 5: the coolest Android phone you can buy

OnePlus no longer is a flagship killer - it's become a bonafide Android flagship

Design ; Speed ; Brand

Screen ; Low light photography ; Price keeps rising

OnePlus 5 review

OnePlus takes the performance (and price) of its budget superphone to the next level...

Excellent design and build quality ; Ultra-fast performance ; Rapid charging and great battery life ; Streamlined Android UI

Audio lacks fine detail and refinement ; 1080p display still lacks subtlety ; No expandable storage

A good value phone with the features and performance you’d expect from something more expensive

OnePlus 5 review: The flagship-killer's coming of age

While the OnePlus 5 is more expensive than it has been in the past, it's still a brilliant phone and it happens to cost much less than its direct

Solid build ; Fast and fluid performance ; Vibrant display and the super-fast Dash Charge

Still no QHD screen ; Phone is more expensive than previous models

It's impossible to look at the OnePlus 5 and not see the price hike this year. Last year's first flagship cost £309. Then the OnePlus 3T launched at £399. With the OnePlus 5 that's up again, to £449 for the Slate Grey 6GB/64GB model. In the space of 12...

OnePlus 5 review

The OnePlus 5 was one of the fastest, best-designed phones of the year - until the 5T came along. OnePlus has now confirmed it will be discontinued when stocks run dry.

OnePlus 5 review

UPDATED: Soft Gold edition is official - Mo' money, no problems

Subtle styling improvements make for a better overall package ; As powerful as 2017 phones get, with great battery life to boot ; Dual cameras take brilliant daylight pics

Not as big a bargain as last year ; Screen sticks to 1080p ; Not the best at night-time photography

We’re not in true bargain territory any more, but the OnePlus 5 still beats the competition on price and now feels every bit the flagship phone

OnePlus 5 review

Editors' Note : On Nov.16, 2017, OnePlus announced the OnePlus 5T , a followup to the OnePlus 5. Since the 5T's launch, the OnePlus 5 sold out, and the company is continuing with the 5T. What follows is our original OnePlus 5 review. Click here to read...

The OnePlus 5 is affordable and super fast, with an 18-hour battery. Its camera takes great portraits and low-light shots.

It costs more than any previous model, its design isn't anything special and it doesn’t have expandable storage.

The OnePlus 5 is outstanding, especially for the price; no other phone gives you the same bang for the buck.

OnePlus 5 Review: Can OnePlus win our ‘best phone’ award again?

Our OnePlus 5 review reveals our thoughts on the much-anticipated 2017 flagship phone, from the new dual-lens camera through to everyday user experience.

Strong value ; Unbeatable performance ; User-friendly customisable OS

Video quality needs improving ; No expandable storage ; Not water resistant

While the OnePlus 5 isn’t quite perfect, it does offer a competitive flagship experience for less cash than the competition. Killer performance, slick software, dependable photo quality and plenty of extra smarts make for a great handset, as well as...
