Nokia Lumia 830

Great low light photos set this phone apart

Great photos in low light ; Slim and stylish design ; Bright and accurate screen

No HDR mode ; Poor performance in some games ; Strong rivals at this price

Overall, it’s a very good screen. You will find better on some similar price or cheaper phones, the Nexus 5, LG G2 and LG G3 spring to mind, but it’s certainly not a reason to rule out the Lumia 830.

Nokia Lumia 830 review

Not top-of-the-range, and not budget - but the Lumia 830 isn't just right either

Decent Battery ; Big bright screen ; Well powered camera ; Camera shutter button ; Metal frame

Poor design ; Sluggish in use ; Poor front camera ; Windows feels disorganised ; Lack of apps

Just one level below the Lumia 930, the Lumia 830 suffers from the same OS flaws as the bigger handset as well as poorly implemented design and low powered internal components.

Nokia Lumia 830 review

The Nokia Lumia 830 is one of the last smartphones to bear the Nokia brand name ahead of Microsoft's takeover of the company. This last of the Nokia breed isn't a flagship powerhouse either, instead the Lumia 830 is the watered-down version of the...

Great build, latest Windows Phone 8.1 experience, battery life, camera options

Screen resolution lacks, lure of Lumia 930 more tempting

The Microsoft Nokia Lumia 830 is a very pretty handset. The build can't be faulted for its premium quality and while the processor and camera might lack a little power for some, that's why the price is where it is positioned.

Nokia Lumia 830 hands-on: The poor man's Lumia 930 - Pocket-lint

When Microsoft describes the new Lumia 830 as a slimmer, sleeker, version of the Lumia 930 they really aren't kidding. The new handset, announced at IFA

Mid-range Windows Phone Lumia 830 isn't the best phone we have tested - but it is far from the worst

The Lumia 830 costs £319 inc VAT SIM free. Design-wise it is good to see a handset that breaks from the black-slab Android norm. The colourful backside is available in several colours, and is actually a thin plastic cover. Detachable, this gives you...

Lumia 830 Windows phone review

But that murky middle ground isn't entirely clear but. Dial down to £150 or less and you can pick up the Moto G. At around £100 Nokia's own Lumia 630 offfers good value. So the question is whether the Lumia 830 is a cheap high-end phone or an expensive...

There's nothing shockingly wrong with the Lumia 830, but it does feel like a slight opportunity lost. It is a mediocre performer, with a not-great camera. But it is well priced, nicely built and stylish. Better value can be found by dropping down to...

Nokia Lumia 830 review

The Nokia Lumia 830 is an affordable flagship smartphone, but it's also a swansong for the venerable Finnish company. Nokia's name is on the way out, and Microsoft will be the brand of choice for the next generation of Lumia phones, with the Microsoft...

Smart-looking with satisfying mid-range power, the Lumia 830 packs in more features than you'd expect at this price range, including the impressive PureView camera.

A 720p screen seems a little disappointing on anything with the title 'flagship'. Windows, as always, suffers when it comes to your choice of apps in the marketplace.

A great example of a Windows-based smartphone and a killer option for what it costs, although there's still not quite enough going on with Windows Phone to pull people away from Android or iOS.

Nokia Lumia 830 review

The thinnest Windows Phone 8.1 mobile around, but is it thin on substance too?

Slim, stylish and nicely made ; Vibrant screen ; Good low-light camera performance

A bit expensive ; Not great for high-end games ; Low-end CPU for the price

Gamers and app-ficionados should steer clear, but those after an easy to use, attractive Windows phone will lap up the Lumia 830

Nokia Lumia 830 Review: In Depth

We review the Lumia 830, Nokia/Microsoft's latest premium smartphone packing a 10-megapixel PureView camera and an all-new affordable price tag. Nokia launched its latest killer...

Attractive, colourful design ; Dependable 10-megapixel camera ; Attractive screen

Basic processor ; Windows Phone quirks

Nokia’s Lumia 830 may be a stripped-back version of the flagship Lumia 930 smartphone, but the sacrifices aren’t all that great considering the cost savings..

Special-edition Lumia 930, 830 give Nokia brand a final 'golden' opportunity

The Nokia Lumia 930 Gold and 830 Gold are finished with anodized gold coloring for extra shine -- a swan song for the Nokia phone brand as we know it.
