Moto G7 Review | Trusted Reviews

The Moto G7 refines the company's affordable phone offering, but despite its well-rounded approach, you'll find more bang for your buck elsewhere.

Refined user experience ; Stylish design ; Affordable

Underwhelming camera quality ; Notable bezels and notch ; So-so call quality ; Rivals offer more for your money

The Moto G7 refines rather than redefines the company’s affordable phone offering, but despite its well-rounded approach, you'll find more bang for your buck elsewhere.

Moto G7 review

The return of the master budget phone

Well-built design ; Huge, clear display ; Great performance

No NFC on US version ; Camera lacks excitement ; Middle of the road battery life

At first glance, the Moto G7 looks like a much more expensive phone than it actually is. It may not offer top-end power or an incredible camera experience, but if you’re on the lookout for an affordable phone that works well and reliably, you’re sure...

Motorola Moto G7 review: Is the standard model the one to buy?

The Moto G has long been one of our favourite budget smartphones, but with the G7 Plus model only £30 more does the standard G7 still have a place?

Great design at this price point - with large screen and minimal bezel (despite being same as the G7 Plus) ; Rear positioned fingerprint scanner makes best sense (better than front positioned before) ; Battery life breezes through a day ; Clean...

Same size and resolution as the G7 Plus model - which is simply confusing ; The Plus and Power phones are better prospects on either side ; Auto-brightness adjustment is over the top ; Dewdrop bezel can distract ; Honor Play is more powerful for same...

The Moto G7 is a great budget phone that improves over its predecessor. Its problem is the G7 Plus which is £30 more and delivers faster charging, optical stabilisation for its better cameras, and a minor bump in processor - making it the phone to buy...

Motorola Moto G7 Play initial review: Affordable Android

The baby of the G7 family, the Play is the most affordable of the lot. It doesn't offer knock-out performance, but it's a well made affordable phone.

Simple and practical build/design ; Screen is decent enough ; Battery lasts an age ; Clean software experience

Camera is only okay ; Performance can get quite ropey during gaming ; Screen not the brightest

A no-frills phone that gets the basics done, the Play is all about affordability. If you're not interested in gaming and don't have a lot to spend, it's a safe bet indeed.

Motorola Moto G7 review: A budget phone wonder that's still one of our faves

A $300 phone shouldn't be this good.

The Good ; The Motorola Moto G7 has a slick contemporary design, a dewdrop notch display, decent dual rear cameras, turbo charging, solid battery life and a near-stock version of Android 9 Pie making it worth every penny.

The Bad ; The single speaker is merely serviceable, low-light photos and general video quality isn't fantastic and the phone costs $50 more than last year's Moto G6.

The Bottom Line The Moto G7 is the best budget phone we've tried hands down.

Moto G7

It might cost a little more than before but the Moto G7 is worth it - and it's still just a quarter of the price of an iPhone XS. Here's our full review

Motorola Moto G7 review

Budget phone royalty gets an upgrade

Smart, classy design ; Big screen ; Decent camera

Not the best at the price for gaming ; Unusually chunky notch

The competition has heated up, but we’ll still recommend the Moto G7 to many in 2019

Motorola Moto G7 review

Seven generations into it, the Moto G is now a whole four-player lineup instead of just one phone like it was in the good old days. Here we'll focus on...

Design is easy on the eyes, the round camera bump makes it easily recogbnizable as a Moto phone.

Overall unimpressive battery life, poor standby times in particular.

And for a budget-conscious shopper that still wants a well-rounded and dependable smartphone, the Motorola Moto G7 delivers. It's almost like it's 2013 all over again.

Motorola Moto G7

The Motorola Moto G7 offers solid performance, but its cameras and call quality leave room for improvement.

Solid performance. Long battery life. Supports all US carriers. Attractive design.

Disappointing camera quality. Mediocre call quality. Relatively pricey.

At $300, the Moto G7 falls squarely into midrange territory. There's a lot to like about it, including solid performance thanks to its Snapdragon 632 processor and 4GB of RAM, plenty of storage, and strong battery life. However, the cameras are...
