Motorola Milestone 2 review

A thinner and faster redesign of Motorola's quirky QWERTY

Rock solid metallic body and keyboard ; Great, responsive screen ; Good camera, fantastic 720p video quality ; Fast, glitch free operation ; Some great media and connectivity features via Motoblur

Tatty-looking, bloated Motoblur widgets ; Below average battery life ; Poor video file support ; Keyboard is a little too small for easy use ; Terribly clunky Motoblur Facebook and Twitter integration

This time last year the Motorola Milestone won itself a fair few fans thanks to being one of the few high-spec Android phones to come with a QWERTY keyboard attached to it.

Motorola Milestone 2 review

Motorola's Milestone 2 sports the same look as the original Milestone (aka Droid), weighs an identical 169g and is a chunky 14mm thick.

Having launched just six months ago, the £25-per-month price tag of the Motorola Milestone 2 is very reasonable. We found ourselves more often turning to its more compact sibling, the Defy, but this remains a top choice if your requirements are...

Motorola Milestone 2 Review

"Running Android 2.2 (Froyo), the Milestone 2 also brings back Motoblur."

It's not all just more of the same though; the Milestone 2 can tether up to five devices to act as you own mobile wifi hotspot, although it will depend on your network which may choose to charge you extra for this functionality. And because the handset...

Motorola - Milestone 2

Motorola's original Milestone Android-based smartphone was a rarity, with its slide-out keyboard. The Milestone 2 repeats the feature and adds in Motorola's Motoblur social networking software, bringing the Milestone line up to date. Social hub ...

The Motorola Milestone 2 is a giant step forward from the original Milestone. Social media fans will find it particularly alluring, but if you're new to that side of things, there may be a learning curve to deal with.

Motorola Milestone 2 Review

The Milestone 2 is a step up from its predecessor, with a better operating system, faster processor and Motorola's own social networking integrator.

: Speedy and accurate in terms of navigation, and the bonus of voice directions on Google Maps

: The phone is a bit weighty, and its chunky build may not suit everyone

The Motorola Milestone 2 offers a whole heap of features and does what we had hoped - improves on the original version. Social networkers will be happy that MOTOBLUR has been included, and users will be enamoured by the tactile QWERTY keyboard. With...

Motorola Milestone 2 review

The Motorola Milestone was one of the first Android 2.0 smartphones and proved immensely popular when it was released at the beginning of the year. Unsurprisingly, its successor is built largely on the same foundation, and the result is a competent...

Pros: Great browsing experience; crisp and responsive screen; good battery life

Slide-out keyboard still needs improving; Android 2.3 upgrade likely to be a long wait

A worthy successor to the Milestone, with useful business features. The Milestone 2 is cheaper than the Galaxy S and iPhone 4, but users should be aware that an update to Android 2.3 may take months.

Motorola Milestone 2

The Motorola Milestone 2 is the latest Android handset to hit the market, offering a large touchscreen display and a slide-down QWERTY keyboard. If you want a phone for emailing and texting, this could be the ideal choice. The good The sliding form...

The QWERTY keypad means the Motorola Milestone 2 will appeal to particular types of user. If you're looking for a touchscreen device with a proper keypad alongside, the Motorola Milestone 2 is currently among the best. Motorola Milestone 2 is tagged...

Motorola Milestone 2 review

The Motorola Milestone 2 is a tad late to the party: its US equivalent, the Droid 2, has been on sale since the Summer, and Android 2.3‘s release is just around the corner. But it's still one of the only Android phones you can buy with a bona fide...

Solid build and call quality, ace on screen keyboard

Motoblur detracts from Android in every way

The best Android QWERTY, but Moto, PLEASE stop messing with the software

Motorola Milestone 2 review

Motorola seems set on continuing its revival with yet another solid effort, this time combining some of the best elements of the previous two Milestones.

Slide-out QWERTY keyboard, 5-megapixel camera, 720p HD video recording

Big n chunky, Battery life not great, LED rather than Xenon flash

A chunky do-it-all smart phone with the latest version of Android, slide-out QWERTY keyboard, 5 megapixel camera, A-GPS, HSDPA 3G and Wi-Fi

Motorola Milestone 2 review

Motorola's Milestone 2 is, as its name suggests, an update of an earlier handset, the original Milestone. Like that handset the Milestone 2 runs Android, and has a slide-out keyboard.

The screen is a reasonable size at 3.7-inches. It delivers 480 x 854 pixels and is capacitive. Pinch to zoom works well, and the screen is certainly large enough for web browsing and other multimedia rich activities.
