The Lumia 950 is Microsoft's first high-end phone to be launched running Windows 10 Mobile. Unfortunately, it's also one of the most frustrating and disappointing devices I've used this year.
Superb camera ; Windows Hello is cool ; Sharp screen
Dull, boring design ; Expensive for what's on offer ; Poor app offerings

Ready to beta test Windows 10 Mobile?
Windows 10 Mobile is slick ; Iris-scanning lockscreen ; Continuum is its best trick
App situation is dire ; Microsoft Maps is 'Apple Maps bad' ; Call quality is subpar
The Lumia 950 proves that there's a lot going for Windows 10 Mobile, though also a lot of work to be done. Its best trick is that it blows up to desktop-like proportions with Continuum, but it sorely needs apps. Dedicated Microsoft fans and willing...

The 950 is the first elite Lumia for ages, but can it really compete?
Great screen ; Strong camera ; Comfortable in one hand
Poor speakers ; Buggy OS ; Uninspired design

Windows Phone 7 launched with a flourish. A range of devices, all singing from the same song sheet, from many of the big manufacturers, like LG, HTC, Samsung. It was a uniform alliance of handsets marking the start of something new. Until it all fell...
Cameras, some nice Window 10 features, removable battery, decent display
Windows 10 littered with inconsistencies, sometimes unstable, iris scanner dazzling, app space not competitive against Android and iOS, bland design
The Microsoft Lumia 950 perhaps isn't the flagship handset that many were expecting. Sitting in that convenient size at 5.2-inches, it may be a more natural choice over the 950 XL's 5.7-inch size. There's a good display on this phone, paired with...

Windows 10 for phones is here but should you buy the new Lumia 950. Find out in our full review.
Windows 10 has arrived on smartphones and we're not exactly blown away. Loyal Windows and Windows Phone users will appreciate features like Universal Apps and while Continuum appears to be a real wow features, it requires a lot of extra equipment. The...

Microsoft Lumia 950 Review: Windows Phone 10 has arrived in the form of two new handsets, the Lumia 950 and the Lumia 950 XL. With...
Easy to use ; Excellent camera ; Continuum
Windows 10 is a bit buggy ; Feels cheap
There’s a lot to like about the Microsoft Lumia 950. It’s well built, offers a lot of freedom in the form of expandable storage and a removable battery and the operating system is familiar yet more capable..

Windows 10 struggles to get in gear for Microsoft's first flagship Lumia
Class-leading photo quality ; Great screen ; Iris scanner is interesting, if not perfect
Windows 10 needs work ; Apps selection still an issue ; Disappointing build and design ; Poor battery life
Photo and screen quality are terrific, but Windows 10 feels clunky and Microsoft doesn’t make up for that with jaw-dropping hardware either

A bland plastic design and minor updates to Windows keeps this Lumia from reaching its full potential. That and a talked-up breakout feature that ultimately falls flat.
Microsoft's Lumia 950 takes good pictures, has a crystal clear screen and a removable battery. The Cortana voice assistant and offline maps remain perks.
Windows phones still have a huge app deficit compared to iPhone and Android. The 950's standout Continuum feature is buggy and cumbersome, and requires separate hardware to use. The phone's ho-hum design feels dated.
The Lumia 950 is a mostly average smartphone, giving iPhone and Android users no reason to switch, and offering little appeal outside Windows phone diehards.

Not a fan of Android or Apple mobile phones? Then the Microsoft Lumia 950 might be just the handset for you. It runs on Microsoft's Windows 10 operating system which means that it's fully compatible with your desktop PC or laptop, if you have one. But...

While I have seen Windows Phones in the past the new Lumia 950 is the first for a while. In theory, as a Windows desktop user of various versions from 3.1 to 10, this should make me feel right at home after those initial problems we all face with a new...
