A budget option for the productivity-minded
Great screen ; Nice camera ; Low price
Poor battery life ; Weak performance ; Buggy OS
With a good camera, a nice screen and decent speakers, the well-built Lumia 550 makes a solid first impression. However, given the slow performance and a buggy OS, those looking for a bargain might be better looking elsewhere.

Microsoft Lumia 550 Review: The cheapest Windows 10 phone is out now in the UK and we've taken it for a test drive, to see...
Comfortable grip ; HD screen ; Decent budget camera
Stuttery performance ; Win 10 issues ; Missing Windows features
Windows 10 certainly has plenty of potential on mobile devices, but Microsoft still has some work on its hands to iron out all of the little bugs and make it a true competitor to iOS and Android. And the Lumia 550, while certainly affordable, is not...

This Microsoft mobile was launched back in 2015, and you can now get one on the cheap. But is it still worth considering? We reveal all in our Microsoft Lumia 550 review.

Windows 10 onboard. Microsoft sees its affordable (and with Windows 10) Lumia 550 positioned in the low-cost sector of around 100 Euros (~$109). However, the smartphone does not really stand out, and the operating system doesn't run smoothly, either.
low price ; removable battery ; swappable cover ; good photos ; 720p screen ; decent voice quality ; everyday suitable battery life
long charging time ; pressure sensitive casing ; high power consumption in some cases ; software not absolutely stable ; some Win10 features not available ; front camera's low resolution
Microsoft demands a higher RRP for the Lumia 550 than for the precursor, but it also has more to offer with LTE support, a higher resolution screen and higher capacity battery. However, it should not be concealed that the pixel count of the front...

Microsoft announced the Lumia 550 alongside the Lumia 950 and 950 XL at the Microsoft Devices event back in October, 2015. This is our review of Microsoft's latest budget offering.
Now that we've got all of that out of the way, it's time to answer the real question: is the Microsoft Lumia 550 worth $139?

The phone is 9.9-mm thin , and tips the scale at 141.9 grams. The phone is powered by a 1.1 Ghz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor and it comes with 1 GB of RAM. What this means is the processor has quad cores in the CPU . The Microsoft Lumia...

The Microsoft Lumia 550 is an entry-level phone running the Windows Phone 10 operating system. Available for around 100 and on the cheapest Pay Monthly contracts, it offers the basic features required from a smartphone, but is limited by a slow...
The Microsoft Lumia 550 may come with the latest Windows Phone 10 operating system, but it doesn't have anything else to recommend it over the Lumia 640 running Windows Phone 8. To be honest, WP10 doesn't really bring anything new to the table either....
