LG Optimus F5 review

Cheap, cheerful and 4G. What more could you want?

Cheap ; Dual-core processor ; IPS display ; Large, removable battery ; 4G

Chunky and heavy ; 5MP camera ; Only 8GB internal storage

The handset itself is well-made, and while it's not going to win any beauty pageants, it isn't ugly either. There are question marks over the camera, and we haven't tested to see how well the processor performs under duress, but this is a promising...

LG Optimus F5 Android phone

The LG Optimus F5 is a mid-range 4G handset with a competitive price tag

Good design ; 4G connectivity ; Excellent value for money

Very slippery finish ; No ambient light sensor ; Battery life a little underwhelming

The LG Optimus F5 is a mid-range 4G handset with a hugely competitive price tag. It provides plenty of bang for your buck thanks to a pleasing design, reasonable performance, and largely intuitive software.

LG shows off LTE-powered F7, F5 budget phones at MWC 2013

LG is targeting cost-conscious consumers who still want a superfast wireless connection to their mobile device with the F family of phones.

Review LG P875 Optimus F5 Smartphone

Run-of-the-mill. Avid readers know it. You will usually find a co

LTE module; high contrast; good images

mediocre battery life; too high a price; narrow viewing angles; not an innovative design

So far, we never saw a device that reduces its brightness when it gets too hot. We doubt that this is necessary as the thermal management of other manufacturers does not include such a "feature".

Pogo Sketch Pro

Most styluses on the market are of the rubber-tipped variety, and they're all pretty much of a muchness. With its ergonomic design and interchangeable tips, the Pogo Sketch Pro truly stands out.

Ergonomic barrel design ; Less screen drag ; Interchangeable tip ; Replacement tips can be purchased ; Comes with protective bag

Artistic "brush" tip less responsive ; Not for heavy-duty scribbling

The Pogo Sketch Pro was kindly supplied by Pogo Sketch Australia.

LG Optimus F5 review

We take a look at LG's new 4G-capable smartphone for the budget-conscious.

Building a good budget priced phone is all about where you make sacrifices. With the F5, it is in the size and clarity of its screen, and this is the right place to find your savings, in our opinion. In many ways, the F5 looks and feels like a more...

LG’s $299 Optimus F5 reviewed: a wallet-friendly entry to the world of 4G

While 4G phones aren't new, the prices for these high speed devices are rarely below the $500 mark. We've seen one to date – Sony's Xperia SP – but LG's first Optimus F handset breaks new ground with a sub-$300 price.

Budget 4G is still as fast as flagship 4G, Battery performs better than top-end Optimus G, Comfortable design

On-screen keyboard isn't the best, Rear camera lacks quality and a flash
