Huawei's Mate X3 is the company's latest foldable smartphone and it's gorgeous. Here are our first impressions.
The Huawei Mate X3 is a fabulous looking device. It's lovely and slender for a foldable, supremely premium and it delivers huge - and great - screens within its footprint. It comes with some compromises though, like no access to Google Play Store.

This super-slender foldable phone stumbles on the software front. Huawei continues to deliver excellent hardware, which is more the pity
A properly premium foldable that’s super slim ; Very capable cameras ; Good battery life and rapid charging
Has software restrictions rivals don’t have to deal with ; No 5G connectivity ; Very expensive
Outstanding foldable hardware remains hamstrung in the West by software limitations. A high price and no 5G make it tough to love.

Huawei continues to stun on the hardware front, but the software on the Mate X3 sadly makes this foldable unattractive to most Android users
Stunningly light and slim ; Excellent OLED displays ; Impressive telephoto camera
No Google support ; Lacklustre battery life ; Too expensive
The Huawei Mate X3 has the best design of any book-style foldable on the market so far, but it is heavily let down by its software – making apps commonly found on other Android phones unusable.

The Huawei Mate X3 is a truly impressive piece if engineering. Huawei managed to craft an amazing device on a number of levels. First and foremost, the X3...
The phone is incredibly thin and folds perfectly without an air gap.
Fingerprint reader is inconvenient to use while the phone is folded.
As usual, it all boils down to personal choice. Undoubtedly, the Mate X3 is an exquisite hardware package through and through, with very few drawbacks in that department. Software is the main pain point of the Mate X3 for prospective buyers. If that's...

The Huawei Mate X3 is an exceptional foldable phone hampered by software that's not par for the course.
Excellent design ; Capable and reliable camera system ; Bright and vivid internal display with minimal crease ; Very functional external display ; Fast charging, has a charger in the box
No 5G support ; Lack of native support for Google's services ; Some core Android functionalities and services missing ; Expensive and hard to get in the US ; Battery life is not impressive

Huawei presented the Mate X3 foldable at the launch event for the Huawei P60 Pro. We were able to take a look at the foldable beforehand and tell you all!
Very good haptics ; Slim design ; 50 W wireless charging ; First photo results are convincing ; Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 is completely sufficient
Too expensive ; No 5G support ; No Google Play Store ; No Google Mobile Services ; No analog audio jack ; Timid software update policy ; Proprietary NM cards instead of microSD
The Huawei Mate X3 has to struggle with the same problems as its brand colleagues in the West—and that is really a shame. Apart from that, the Chinese company has really managed to create a haptically, visually, and technically appealing foldable that...
