Honor 7S review: Yes, it's very cheap but are the sacrifices made to keep that price down actually worth it, or should you spend more?
Low price ; Solid screen ; Fairly sllim and light
Very poor performance
The Honor 7S runs Android 8.1 and has Huawei’s EMUI interface. At the time of review, this is the latest major version of Android, and the interface is similar to that of Huawei and Honor’s more expensive phones.

A super-cheap phone where the cuts go too deep
Very low price ; Big, bright display ; Camera needs the right conditions
Awful performance ; Ugly EMUI ; No fingerprint scanner
With solid build quality and a decent screen, the Honor 7S appears to be a bargain. However, poor performance and the lack of a fingerprint scanner reveal a budget phone that makes too many compromises.

Ouya is one of the most successful Kickstarter campaigns ever, and succeeded in raking in a cool $8.5 million when it was crowd-funded last year. It's since picked up another $15 million in investment, suggesting that it has a bright future ahead. We...
Cheap, Attractive, Good connectivity options, Comfortable controller
Hardly any decent games, Could be more powerful, No Google Play support
Ouya has the potential, but at the moment a lack of decent games and a sluggish UI make for a slightly disappointing experience. It could also do with a bit more power, but for £99 it remains an intriguing prospect - provided the software is forthcoming.

It'll retail for just £99, which converts roughly to $129 and AU$175.

Budget Oreo phone The Honor 7S is a budget entry-level smartphone with Android Oreo and dual SIM support. The hardware configuration leads one to believe that the smartphone is likely to be fairly slow. To find out if this is true, read on.
modern Android Oreo ; good WLAN for this price bracket ; solid manufacturing quality ; long battery life ; dual SIM plus SD card possible
occasionally choppy performance ; no USB Type-C ; GPS glitches
In our tests, the Honor 7S proves to be a fairly typical budget smartphone that reveals some minor weaknesses in terms of system performance. Buyers who do not mind occasionally waiting for apps to load will get a smartphone that runs the modern...
