HTC One E8 review

The plastic twin to the all-conquering M8

UI still impressive ; Powerful innards

Slippy as can be ; Camera too generic ; Too light compared to impressive M8

The soul of the One M8 is missing here - it's cheaper, but not cheap enough to call it a competitor

HTC One E8 review

The HTC One E8 is the plastic-bodied cousin of the M8; a stripped down version of the flagship device that has proven popular with both customers and critics alike. It's designed to be a cheaper handset than the M8, available online for around £330....

Powerful handset, battery life is good, display is great, sound quality unsurpassed, refined software experience

Camera performance is average, tactile finish rubbing off is disappointing, lacks the M8's wow factor and premium feel

There are a number of areas where the HTC One E8 fails to live up to the M8 experience. But given the reduced price that is to be expected, so it's difficult to see the E8 as doing anything but delivering on its aims.

HTC One E8 packs flagship specs into a cheaper, affordable chassis (review)

Think of the HTC One E8 as a lighter, cheaper version of the flagship One M8 without the cool dual camera and you're right on the money.

The HTC One E8 packs top-end hardware with a bright and vibrant display. It also runs the latest version of HTC's Sense UI and has most of the features of the flagship One M8.

The phone lacks what made the One M8 unique -- its dual-camera system -- and doesn't really outshine cheaper devices in the features department.

The One E8 offers the high-end HTC experience in glossy colors and a plastic case, but without a unique selling point, there's little reason to buy this expensive device.

M8 vs E8: You're wasting your money on the HTC One M8

Until we have an exact UK price for the HTC One E8 it's a little difficult to make any firm conclusions. However, if we are to believe that it will come in with a mid-range price tag - say, no more than £300 - it's very difficult to justify the extra...

HTC One E8 headed for China

Previously rumored as the HTC One Vogue Edition, the new smartphone features a polycarbonate body available in multiple color options.

If you like the One (M8) but have found the price a bit too unattractive, the more affordable One (E8) may be what y0u're looking for.

No release date has been announced for HTC One E8 in the UK, but if you import the E8 in single or dual-SIM versions from abroad, you will be getting a great smartphone at a little bit of a knock-down price.

HTC One (E8) review: Traveling light

What if you stripped the HTC One (M8) of the metal armor it's so proud of. Imagine replacing it for plastic. Sounds like the worst thing that could happen to the top model of a struggling company. The HTC One (E8) will heartily disagree. If anything is...

No IR-port ; No 4K video recording or OIS ; Non user-replaceable battery ; No TV-out connectivity ; USB On-the-go or USB Host

The HTC One series has at least one feature it can hang its hat on - premium design. This became absolutely critical with the M8, as the scorching hot flagship was outclassed by its competitors in many other areas - performance and camera being the...

HTC One E8 (Sprint)

The HTC One E8 for Sprint doesn't wow with its plastic design, but it delivers flagship features and performance at a midrange price.

Excellent 1080p LCD. Fast Snapdragon 801 processor. Top-notch front-facing speakers.

Camera struggles in low light. Plastic build.

Camera and Conclusions HTC loses the 4-megapixel, or UltraPixel, camera in favor of a more traditional 13-megapixel sensor for the E8. I understand the advantages of having a larger sensor, but compared with every other flagship phone, the M8 fell...

HTC One E8 review

Very similar in design to this year's HTC One M8 , the One E8 is a plastic version of the flagship metallic phone. Originally destined for China, the E8 has started to pop up in other Asian countries like India, Singapore and Taiwan. HTC has yet to...
