There are a number of areas where the HTC One E8 fails to live up to the M8 experience. But given the reduced price that is to be expected, so it's difficult to see the E8 as doing anything but delivering on its aims.

The HTC One E8 packs top-end hardware with a bright and vibrant display. It also runs the latest version of HTC's Sense UI and has most of the features of the flagship One M8.

The phone lacks what made the One M8 unique -- its dual-camera system -- and doesn't really outshine cheaper devices in the features department.

The One E8 offers the high-end HTC experience in glossy colors and a plastic case, but without a unique selling point, there's little reason to buy this expensive device.

Until we have an exact UK price for the HTC One E8 it's a little difficult to make any firm conclusions. However, if we are to believe that it will come in with a mid-range price tag - say, no more than £300 - it's very difficult to justify the extra...
