HTC Magic

Can the HTC Magic help Google's Android take over the world? Niall finds out.

The Magic feels very much like the phone that Google should have used to originally launch Android. It's far superior to the G1 in terms of looks and usability, while enhancements such as the addition of the dedicated search key and tweaks to the user...

HTC Magic review

The second Google Android phone finally lands: with new features and an upgraded interface, it's a belter

Excellent touchscreen ; Android upgrade ; Easy messaging ; Nice interface ; Keyboard is good ; Tight Google integration ; Slim and lightweight

Poor camera ; No 3.5mm headphone jack ; 2 year contract ; Some touchscreen response issues ; Some might find it slightly lightweight

A very good performer from the Android stable that will just keep on pleasing from the box.

HTC Magic

So the G2, or HTC Magic as it is now called, has landed in the UK on Vodafone rather than T-Mobile. But does it bring with it the dawning of a new operating system and a must have phone? We got dialling to find out. Considerably slimmer than the G1...

Touchscreen responsive, small and light, easy to use,

No flash, plastic design unlikely to last your contract, no 3.5mm jack

The HTC Magic is a very enjoyable and fun handset to use. It’s quick, nimble and has the potential to be so much more thanks to the addition of Market – Android's app store. In fact, apart from a rather gloss white plastic design that looks like it is...

HTC Magic - First Look

Often referred to on the Internet as the G2, HTC has teamed up with Vodafone in the UK to announce the HTC Magic, an Android-based handset that ditches the slide-out QWERTY keyboard. But has this move worked? Is this the must-have handset to look...

HSDPA, Wi-Fi, thinner than G1, Android

Onscreen keyboard looks fiddly, no flash, no 3.5mm jack, gloss finish looks cheap

HTC Magic Review

The second Google phone arrives: smarter looks, a neater shape and a better button layout. It uses the improved latest Android software (version 1.5, sweetly called Cupcake). Android is slick and effective,…

HTC's second Google phone loses the QWERTY keyboard in favour of video recording and a slicker design. Does it have the iPhone's number?

Finally, a game changer – suddenly the iPhone isn't the only amazing touchscreen phone out there

A slimmer version of the ‘Google phone’ When T-Mobile released the G1, its first phone to use Google’s Android operating system, it proved enormously popular. That touch-screen handset was ...

HTC Magic

The Magic runs on Android OS 1.5, is exclusively available on the Vodacom network, and can support Microsoft Exchange- so how does it weight up to HTCs first Android phone?

Its touch-screen is responsive, its integration of Google services is excellent and it offers Microsoft Exchange.

Applications can only be stored on internal memory, there\'s no 3.5 mm jack, the accelerometer is temperamental.
