HTC Desire EYE

The perfect phone for the selfie generation

Great front-facing camera with flash ; Solid performance ; Respectable 1080p screen ; Well priced

Flimsy buttons ; Big and bulky

With speakers this small you can’t expect too much low-end, but there’s enough bass to enjoy an action movie or your favourite TV series.

HTC Desire Eye review

The ultimate selfie-phone?

Excellent design ; Bright, crisp screen ; BlinkFeed and BoomSound ; Dedicated shutter button

Average cameras ; Too big ; Only 16GB storage ; Mediocre battery life

The strength of the Desire Eye isn't in its 13MP cameras but its unibody design and flagship-baiting specifications. The excellent screen and front-facing speakers mean this handset punches above its weight.

HTC Desire Eye review: A real eye-opener

The HTC Desire Eye is an odd device. Its headline feature is the 13-megapixel front-facing camera, which - let's get straight to it - is a little extreme. That's paired with a dual-tone front-facing flash too, so on paper it out-specs rival handsets...

Build quality, power, good value for money, software, waterproofing

Battery lacking capacity, front camera resolution is unjustifiable really

The HTC Desire Eye is a great smartphone. The design might be plastic, but it's a solid, well constructed and weather-proofed handset pitched at a fair price point. It's good in use thanks to having plenty of power on board, and has a great display too...

HTC Desire Eye preview: A phone that wants to redefine the selfie (hands-on) - Pocket-lint

HTC has grabbed selfies by the proverbial with the launch of the HTC Desire Eye. The new handset hits the headlines by offering a front-facing 13-megapixel

HTC Desire Eye review

The go-to phone for the sharpest selfies in existence

Water resistant ; Fast and capable cameras - on both sides ; Good screen ; Very solid performance

A bit large and boxy ; Not quite as snazzy as an HTC One M8

Whether a selfie-addict or not, the Desire Eye is a capable, likeable all-rounder

HTC Desire Eye vs Nokia Lumia 735 comparison: What's the best selfie smartphone?

We don't need to tell you that the HTC Desire Eye is the better phone in this comparison. Of course it is. After all, it's nearly twice the price of the Lumia 735. In its screen, in its hardware, in its storage, in fact in every category the HTC beats...

HTC Desire Eye selfie smartphone review

We are thoroughly impressed with the HTC Desire Eye: it's fast, it's great value (assuming it comes in around £350), it has a nice screen and it sounds great. Better still, it makes you look pretty.

HTC Desire Eye review: The waterproof phone that takes selfies in the dark

The HTC Desire Eye has a whopping 13-megapixel front-facing camera, with its own flash -- prepare to snap some selfies in the dark.

The HTC Desire Eye is the first smartphone to feature a front-facing flash to illuminate your selfies. Its screen is bright and bold, it has plenty of power and its colourful body is waterproof.

Although the front camera has 13 megapixels, images still suffer from noise and blur, particularly in low light. Focus is far from perfect too, even with the flash assistance.

Although its flash-equipped front camera is eye-catching, its image results aren't as impressive as I'd hoped. Still, the flash will illuminate your face where other phones can't, and the Desire Eye comes with fun software, is well-specced and...

HTC Desire Eye Review: In Depth

We review HTC's Desire Eye, a hulking selfie monster packing dual 13-megapixel cameras, plus some premium specs for a mid-range price.

Waterproof ; Sharp screen ; All day battery life

Cameras inconsistent ; Bulky build

I really, really like the HTC Desire Eye, and I’m not even a fan of selfies, unless I’m a bit tipsy. Take or leave that 13-megapixel front facer, because the rest of the phone is a joy. Between the solid performance, uber-long battery life, spacious HD...

HTC Desire Eye review

A mid-range smartphone designed for the selfie generation

Decent design, good performance, good screen

Autofocus is hit and miss, no Android Lollipop

The Desire Eye does have its flaws, chiefly the previous generation Android version, average battery and hazy camera focus, but there is a lot to like about it.
