Honor 9A review

The Honor 9A is an excellent cheap smartphone, but no Google Services is a killer.

Super cheap Does everything you need from a smartphone Good camera for the price

No Google Mobile Services No fast charging It's a fingerprint magnet

If you’re just looking at the Honor 9A from a hardware perspective, it offers phenomenal value. For £160 you get a multi-lens camera, fingerprint scanner, and long-lasting battery. But without Google Services, it’s a tough sell.

The Honor 9A is an entry-level handset with a big battery life and a pleasing design - but as with every budget phone there are compromises

Honor 9A review: long battery life but no Google support

Long-lasting 5.000 mAh battery ; Solid workmanship ; Decent camera performance with enough light

Outdated technology ; Plodding performance ; Poor performance in low-light conditions ; No Google Mobile Services

A low price cannot be the only reason to buy a smartphone - at least not if there are better models within the same price range. This is exactly the problem with the Honor 9A, where at only £130 is cheap but does not really satisfy potential buyers...

HONOR 9A Review — Bigger Is Better?

We take a look at HONOR's latest entry-level smartphone in this HONOR 9A review. Does it provide value for your money?

+ Attractive design at the back ; + Lasting 5000mAh battery ; + NFC support ; + Affordable price tag

- Still uses microUSB ; - Helio P22 doesn't seem suitable today ; - Camera could do better in low-light ; - Not the smoothest of UI experience

The HONOR 9A is a smartphone for those who want a lasting battery life as well as an affordable way of getting into the HMS ecosystem.
