Dopod D810

Dopod's latest smart phone offers High Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) connectivity in a sleek and stylish unit featuring a gloss black or white ...

Glossy design, excellent scroll wheel, HSDPA, solid feature list

mini-USB connector for headphones, fingerprint magnet, no keyboard, voice quality could be improved

If you can live without a slide out QWERTY keyboard, the D810 is an excellent option for those after a HSDPA smart phone. Sleek, stylish yet still packed with features, it comes highly recommended, although price is steep.

Dopod D810

The Dopod D810 is packed with a bevy of useful features including 3.5G HSDPA support, quad-band GSM, and Wi-Fi, but suffers from some glaring shortcomings.

Excellent interface ; Numerous connectivity options ; Good battery life ; Sharp and vibrant display

Slow processor ; Lacks FM radio ; Expensive ; Lacks 3.5mm audio jack

Images taken with the inbuilt camera are nothing to write home about. Still-images aren't very sharp and rarely come out acceptable when taken in poor lighting conditions. Battery life was one of the D810's strong points. The 1500 mAh battery lasted...

Dopod D810

Relatively new to Australia, Dopod was first seen down under on the mass market when Three took on the 838Pro and 565 models earlier this year. The D810 is the latest handset to be picked up by Three, and is loosely based on the 838Pro.

Battery life? I seriously don't think so.

Functions functions functions

The beveled screen border ; Camera is below par ; The on-screen keyboard is fiddly even for experienced users ; Screen could be more reponsive ; Price ; Stylus easily lost

Dopod D810

Loved the D810 - Just make sure you update the ROM to the very latest version. Early ROM releases were a little 'average' - the last one was great.

Stable final ROM. Light, performs really well

Make sure you soft reset daily as preventative maintenance

Not so great!!!

Features. WiFi etc ; Large screen

Too many bugs. The drop down menu continuously pops up on its own (which drains the battery), and when it finally stops the screen freezes. (VERY annoying and disappointing.) ; Slow ; No qwerty keyboard ; Black coating is peeling off a little
