Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom review

The Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom has some great qualities, but its signature camera is a mixed bag.

This phone's battery lasts 20 hours

The best thing about the Asus ZenFone 3 Zoom isn't its camera tech.

The ZenFone 3 Zoom's dual-cameras take decent pictures and lets you zoom a bit further compared to its rivals. It also has amazing battery life.

The bland design and bloatware-filled software makes it a pain to use. It has a software-based depth-of-field setting that kind of sucks.

Those looking to try out optical zoom on smartphones can look towards the ZenFone 3 Zoom, but bear in mind the user experience isn't the best.

Asus ZenFone 3 Zoom

The Asus ZenFone 3 Zoom stands out from the crowd of unlocked phones thanks to stellar battery life, dual-camera optical zoom, and a slew of unique features.

Affordable. Dual-camera optical zoom. High-resolution audio. Lots of unique features and customization options. Good build quality. Stellar battery life. Super-bright display.

Low-light camera performance could be better.

The $329 ZenFone 3 Zoom sits between the $299 Moto G5 Plus and the $399 ZTE Axon 7 in terms of price. With its gargantuan battery, dual-camera setup with telephoto zoom, and host of unique features, it manages to stand out, which is more than you can...

Asus ZenFone 3 Zoom Review

Featuring some respectable mid-range silicon, one big-honking battery, and an intriguing dual-camera package, there sure seems to be a lot to like about the ZenFone 3 Zoom.

Solidly day-long battery life ; Good value ; Flexible camera hardware

Camera software needs work, low-light performance unsatisfying ; Audio a bit of a letdown ; No waterproofing ; Dated design ; Battery this big feels like it should last even longer

ASUS ZenFone 3 Zoom review - is it worthy of its name?

The ASUS ZenFone 3 Zoom may not be your dream device in terms of optical capabilities, but the camera is pretty good and the phone excels in other areas. Its battery life is hands-down the best we have seen, and the price is nothing to scoff at.

Insane battery life ; Quality camera with optical zoom ; Accessible price point. ; Pretty good specs for the price ; AMOLED display

Optical zoom is cool, but overhyped ; Launched with outdated software ; Fragile construction ; 1080p resolution ; Lackluster sound quality

Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom Review: Long Zoom, Longest Battery Life Ever

The Asus ZenFone 3 Zoom is a really interesting phone. Its performance is similar to that of less-expensive budget phones, its display is on a par with those of handsets costing hundreds more, and it has dual rear cameras with OIS and a 2.3x optical...

Ridiculously long battery life ; Dual rear cams with 2.3x optical zoom ; Supercolorful 5.5-inch AMOLED display ; Upscale design with USB Type-C and fingerprint sensor

Still running Android 6 ; Somewhat clunky interface ; Performance is similar to that of less expensive phones ; Phone won't work on Verizon's or Sprint's network

With sharp dual rear cameras, a 2.3x optical zoom and the best battery life ever, Asus' ZenFone 3 Zoom is a great pick for an affordable price.

ASUS ZenFone 3 Laser review

The Zenfone 3 Laser offers a good value with its premium design, excellent battery life, and dual-SIM card support. However, it doesn't really stand out against competing options, some of which offer a better value.

Premium design ; Excellent battery life ; Good display ; Unlocked with dual-SIM support ; Support for microSD cards ; Highly likely to receive an Android 7.0 update

Average camera performance ; 2 GB of RAM is a major bottleneck ; ZenUI's design looks outdated ; Display is a tad dim ; Very poor speaker output ; No NFC
