Full review: the iPhone 5S is good enough to even turn a few Android heads.
Touch ID works perfectly ; Excellent performance ; Great all-round camera ; Very light and comfortable in one hand
Battery life could be better ; 4-inch screen too small for some ; Extra storage cost
So the 5S looks likes its predecessor, but that's where the similarities end.

Apple's first iPhone with Touch ID is now a solid budget buy
Powerful 64-bit core ; Touch ID is a real step up ; Excellent camera
No longer the latest iPhone ; No screen tech change ; Battery life could be longer
iPhone 5S debuted Apple's newfangled fingerprint sensor and 64-bit processor three years ago, and it's still a viable smartphone for anyone on a budget. It's held up well enough with a good camera and iOS 10 software update.

After a year on sale, is Apple's 4-inch smartphone still the one to buy?
Touch ID ; Improved camera and flash ; Wide LTE support
Price ; Battery life

Product of the Year, 2013. A fresh new OS, techy tricks and the best smartphone sound quality means the iPhone isn't done impressing us just yet
Fantastic fit and finish ; Excellent sound quality ; Good picture ; iOS 7 is impressive
Picture can be bettered by some larger, higher-res screens
Once again, the new iPhone confounds expectations. The iPhone 5s beats the LG G2 for sound quality and produces a perfectly good picture despite the smaller screen, while iOS7 is both beautifully designed and bursting with long-awaited functions.

Under-display fingerprint sensors have gotten really good, and Apple's Face ID no longer seems like the best biometric solution in town.

The iPhone 5S is Apple's latest flagship smartphone, one that tweaks and enhances the iPhone 5. With almost all of 2013's smartphone models revealed - except for the Nexus 5 - this is where Apple sets out its stall for the next year. The iPhone 5S...
Touch ID fingerprint sensor, A7 processor, M7 processor, better camera, universal 4G support, iOS 7 makes it a cleaner user experience, it just works
Screen still feels small, screen res remains average, no NFC, iCloud still a mess, day one and the 5S feels no different from iPhone 5, optional cases grate with the 5S concept
The iPhone 5S fulfils the pre-determined destiny of all Apple "S" devices - it's the one that's normally met by the baying crowd as "meh".

The iPhone 6 is a great smartphone but isn't a must have upgrade if you have an iPhone 5s as the upgrades are fairly minimal. If you don't mind the smaller screen, the iPhone 5s remains a decent buy with Touch ID, a great camera and solid performance....

The iPhone 5S is still very much part of Apple's smartphone lineup along with the iPhone 6, 6 Plus and the plastic iPhone 5C, reviewed. This means it should be on your shortlist if you're after a new phone right now. Here's our iPhone 5S review,...
Even more than a year after launch, the iPhone 5S is still a great choice. It's roughly £100 cheaper now to buy SIM free and has TouchID, a great camera and remains a solid performer. The 4in screen is cramped compared to the 5in (and bigger) rivals,...
Expert review by : Ashleigh Allsopp (techadvisor.co.uk)
The iPhone 5s has a 4in display, which for a flagship smartphone in 2014 is actually pretty tiny. Even mini versions of flagship phones from Samsung, LG and HTC have displays bigger than 4in.
We can't give our full verdict on how the iPhone 6 compares with its predecessor until it's released and we get our hands on it, but we can tell you that it's likely to be even better than the iPhone 5s, with a new design, a bigger screen, a better...
