Looking through the literature for many of the GE microwaves this is for only leaves me perplexed. When the filter is installed, it only filters 1/2 the blower, meaning the other 1/2 of the blower is not filtered at all. But, the microwaves are...

Called a "kit" but is only a simple charcoal filter. It seems to have little effect on operation of the microwave. Hard to understand why it costs so much. Not likely to replace it as recommended in a year.
