This unit worked fine for two years then died. Naturally it is out of warranty.

For this much money I would expect a unit to last more than 4 years and of course the trim kit won't work with any other brand. But after 2 lousy kitchenaid units we will bite the bullet and buy a different brand as well as a new trim kit.
