The FMP-X10 is Sony's second-generation 4K media player, equipped with a 1TB hard drive, access to hundreds of 4K movies and Netflix's 4K streaming service. Previously proprietary, a software update makes it usable by multiple brands of compatible 4K TV.

Sony's FMP X10 4K UHD media player is already starting to look just a little tiny bit dated now that a number of new streaming 4K UHD media boxes have emerged for the home entertainment market. However, while it may lack a few things in comparison to...
Access to a superb selection of feature 4K UHD videos ; Baked-in Netflix 4K App ; Easy to use and very easy to set up ; download delivery of 4K content ; Compatible with many 4K TV models
Definitely on the expensive side for what it offers ; A little bit dated by now ; No access to the wider web and numerous apps ; No gaming functionality
If you want a fairly bare bones 4K UHD media player that doesn’t bother with dozens of fancy apps or gaming functionality but does deliver access to a massive library of 4K UHD home entertainment, then the FMP X10 is definitely a great choice. Overall,...

Sony recently opened up its FMP-X10 4K Media Player to work with any HDCP 2.2-compliant UHD TV, not just Sony UHD TVs. Adrienne Maxwell puts the player to the test to see if it's worth that $700 price tag.
What to conclude about the Sony FMP-X10 4K media player? On the one hand, it's pretty much the only game in town if you want a standalone 4K media server with direct access to 4K theatrical film downloads. The product is easy to set up and use, and the...

This is the most useless device run into in my life. We set up the unit as per instructions on the screen. Obtained a pin all what has to done established the billing information put money in the "wallet". Actually we did this several times. And after...
Consumer review (walmart.com)
The device works well, but the choice of movies in 4K is very sparse, and the cost is ridiculous. There is little available from other sources. There is no discount for older movies. No coupons. Maybe my investment in a 65" Sony Ultra HDTV and media...

I bought the FMP-X10 4K media player after talking with Sony's Sales department. I specifically asked if the FMP-X10 would play Amazon Prime 4K service and was told that it absolutely would. I hook the unit up to my Sony XBR-65X850A and there is no...

Please Sony, make this work with Vizio 4K TVs, I get a beautiful picture but no sound! It obviously was never tested with the many 4K sets before updating your webpage for this product to indicate support for non-Sony 4K TVs that are HDCP 2.2...

I have 7 sony tvs, (new 950b) One hap HD amp and several computers. Bought this because I thought it came with 10 movies . guess not! Got connected once in 3 days. Says server is busy . Netflix comes on all my tvs. This unit is bogus. What is this...

First, this is a box to rend / buy movies from. It is proprietary and therefore will have no long term support. Second - It has extremely small mount of supported formats. Which means a lot of what you have video wise is probably not going to play on...

This may not seem essential, but if you wish to build a personally controlled library of 4k or HD movies, this storage device will be a good start. The capacity is good enough, software is decent, and the cost is reasonable.
