A desirable wireless approach which doesn't fully deliver
Easy to use ; impressive with wireless audio and standard definition video
Doesn’t stream high def convincingly ; ugly remote control
A great way to get standard-def video and audio from your PC to your TV, but falls down when it comes to HD

Like all of Pinnacle's ShowCenter products, the Pinnacle ShowCenter 250HD enables rich multimedia content stored on your PC or network to be enjoyed on your living room TV without the need for messy wires, keyboards or mice.
The Pinnacle ShowCenter 250HD is simple yet functional and, once it's set up, relatively unobtrusive. But in this age we demand something slicker and more inviting from an entertainment device. A few simple tweaks could make a world of difference.

By way of compensation, 5.1 audio streams can be routed to compatible equipment via the digital audio output. Unfortunately, the ShowCenter 250HD is incompatible with cutting-edge formats like H.264 (European HDTV) and the x.264 that's starting to...
Good analogue connectivity, HDTV support, excellent video playback
Lacks HDMI, doesn't support H.264/x.264 or DVD folders/disc images

I do not have an HD capable TV so I can't tell you about anything but the standard NTSC output through RCA cables. One would think that the available component outputs would not be as high quality as HDMI. I will post another review when I get a better...
I no longer have to burn a DVD every time I want to watch a movie I have acquired on my PC, on my TV. I can also listen to my music in my living room as well as my office
1) Price: Why does this thing cost 2 bills ; 2) Setup was not easy, but not impossible

DivX and XviD, but this Pinnacle solution looks like it's going to hit the sweet spot for price/performance. The thing can handle 1080i playback of Windows Media Video 9, WMV-DRM, MPEG1, MPEG2, MEPG4 AVI, DivX, XviD, as well as high definition files...
HD support ; good range of supported formats
No HDMI ; no web access ; not much of an improvement on previous versions
