Most video media players are restrictive since you have to buy a 2.5 inch hard disk alongside it. Iomega's sleek ScreenPlay TV Link Director edition works a bit differently.

Simple, convenient for multimedia playback

Various connections cause clutter in rear of device; front-mounted USB port would've been more convenient; eSATA, FireWire, or flash media reader options would've been nice as well.
The Iomega ScreenPlay TV Link offers an easy way to watch digital video files without the need to hook up a computer to your TV.

Turn your ordinary TV into a Smart TV.
Plays most popular media file format; Three USB ports; Easy-to-use interface; Multiple input and output options; Wireless and wired connectivity with DLNA, QWERTY remote control for internet activity.
Remote control is cumbersome with unconventional design for media control; Intermittently sluggish response; No memory card reader.

We're taking a look at the Iomega(r) ScreenPlay(tm) TV Link. A solid-state (no moving parts) device that promises to make it convenient and affordable to access
At less than $100 this is a steal. Far easier to carry around than a DVD/DiVX player and astonishingly good at what it does.

Note that I said I use a FAT32 formatted hard drive. It is a known fact that NTFS formatted hard drives have difficulty running smoothly with with Linux based devices like the Hava Titanium HD and I believe the Screenplay TV Link. True you come up...
Plays every DIVX/XVID video I have thrown at my ScreenPlay TV Link from my FAT32 formatted 250gig Seagate external HD. Additionally, full DVDs ripped & play just as if I was playing original DVD. Hooked in via HDMI cable, running audio from digital...
Would like true digital audio with true surround 5-1 sound. Menu system in very basic. Need better playlist capability to "see before view" functionality. The so-called tool Iomega allows you download for creation of playlists is essentially...

I own the Iomega screenPlay TV Link and the new Western Digital HD TV. There is no comparison as the Western Digital HD TV is a much more polished and professional product! The WD HD TV is well worth the price difference. The WD HD TV menus are great...
Small, Plays most any file format, lower cost than competition
Menus are very basic, small remote, frequently get out of sync audio on Divx/Xvid files
