This really is a cheap macro lens that can produce some good photos and a great beginning to macro shooting and should be in your kit bag

Auto focus does struggle below a couple of inches away from subject and the lens is plastic no zoom so you have to be very close to subject so insect photos are a particular challenge

Bright F2.8 aperture for low light photos Sharp results with very good detail Much better than a kit lens for macro Easy to use Good depth of field control Much cheaper than most macro lenses Overall it is good value for money

Lens construction a bit plasticky, so not as robust as a professional lens, but considering the price its not really an issue. Autofocus motor a little noisy, but similar to most kit lenses in operation.
