Panasonic Leica DG Summilux 25 mm f/1.4 ASPH.

When you start a system kind of from scratch you must make sure its potential users have several basic lenses available. We think here not only about an all-purpose kit lens but also about a fast, classic standard so the equivalent of 50 mm device. The...

very sound workmanship ; sensational image quality in the frame centre, including the maximum relative aperture ; good image quality on the edge of the frame on slight stopping down ; well corrected chromatic aberration ; slight astigmatism ; good work...

distinct coma ; too high vignetting by f/1.4 ; the edge of the frame near the maximum relative aperture could have been sharper

Panasonic Leica DG Summilux 25mm f/1.4 ASPH Review

The Leica DG Summilux 25mm f/1.4 ASPH is an excellent standard lens that currently offers the fastest maximum aperture of any Micro Four Thirds lens. Such exclusivity does come at a rather literal cost, though, with a high retail price of £548.99 /...

Not100% Leica glass BUT 100% Leica quality

1.4, Leica name on it, sharp wide open, 3d rendering effect, fast focus even on Olympus body

Not 100% Leica glass

A lens with personality

Extremely sharp starting with 1.4. Very good bokeh. Pleasant colours

no water/dust proof (but I can live with that)

This is without question the best lens I have used to date for portraits on micro four thirds. I have the Oly 75 1.8, 45 1.8, 17 1.8, 12 2.0 and 12-40 2.8. I previously owned the Panny 20 1.7 but sold it after comparing IQ between these two lenses....

Much faster AF than the Panasonic 20 1.7, much more pleasant rendering of skin tones (less harsh) yet equally sharp. Fantastic and vibrant colours. Perefct for portraits in available natural light

Relatively large size compared to Olympus primes or Panasonic panacake primes

I use it mostly for shooting my newborn and for that, it's just great. Also used it outdoor, sometimes @ night and I'm very happy with the results. Definitely prefer it from the "Pancace"... This lens it's just fun!

Razor sharp images, best optical performance m4/3 Lence I could find

No IOS, AF a bit slow, not weather proof, high price
