Lightweight, increases focal length with no loss of quality

Absolutely no loss to sharpness and the 40% gain in reach is fantastic. I use it with my 300 f/2.8 lens and only loose one f-stop but turns my lens into 420mm. Certainly cheaper than paying for a pro 400mm lens and weighs less.

I think it is a little pricey but you have to pay for quality.

It is lighter to carryand a lot cheaper than another lens. It extends the total range of my 70-200 2.8 VR II Nikkor to 280mm . I am pleased with it.

Lens combination loses one stop. Image quality slightly less good than a prime lens but is good for a TC.

1.4 TC goes extremely well with Nikon 300mm f/4 without any visible lost of image quality resulting in 420mm on FX sensor.

DX bodies such as D60 have difficulties with AF (i.e. images are not as sharp as we expect). I presume that D300 (DX) will do the job as good as D700 (our camera).
