Nikon AF 60mm f/2.8D Micro Nikkor

You want Macro, I'll give you Macro! I removed this lens from it's box after purchasing and was very pleased with the weight of this sucker, and then I used it. The results were amazing, sharp, fast, and easy to use. The deep lens element negates the...

Fast ; Sharp at Portrait or Macro Photography ; Heavy, well built

Nikon AF 60mm f/2.8D Micro Nikkor

From taking the lens out of the box I could tell by the weight of the lens that this was no cheap lens. I have been looking for a good macro lens for a while and have spent a few weeks reading reviews on various websites including this one. I was...

Clear image quality, well built lens, ease of use. great price. great for everyday use as well as macro. Used with Nikon D200 DSLR camera. I am going to rate this lens as five star until I find a reason to give it a lower rating, so... this may take a...

This Nikon 60 mm Lens is really very very sharp and you will be amazed to see, that you sometimes need a filter for portraits especially when you make photos of older people e.q. The colours and contrast is very good and sometimes i often wonder how...

All simply all. If i were to only have one, this would do it!

Nikon AF 60mm f/2.8D Micro Nikkor

Definite choice for Micro. I used this lens b4 with my F90X shooting small animals, mostly insects. Using this lens to take insects photos on the field is not easy: AF actions seems rather slow and u need to be very close to the subject...somehow scary...

Very Sharp good Color and contrast Reasonably priced

Slow AF action, I used MF in most cases for taking moving bugs.

Nikon AF 60mm f/2.8D Micro Nikkor

A really sharp lens. The results are stunningly sharp. Colour & contrast are great too. Can be used as a standard lens but may be too sharp for portraits, even at 2.8. The short 60mm means a tripod is not needed and the short barrel doesn't cause a...

Sharpness, sharpness, sharpness. This is the sharpest prime lens I have ever used. I have been shooting D1x & D1 since 2000 and this is the only lens I have used where 90% of the time no sharpening at all is needed, the other 10% only a small bit does...

Plastic construction (although still solid), the price should warrant a steel body. The front of the lens extends a lot at 1:1 ratio, although I can live with this.

see strenghts as there are no weaknesses!

Possibly the sharpest macro on the planet? color, contast, doubles as normal lens, no need for lens hood, feels "just right" in my hands.

Nikon AF 60mm f/2.8D Micro Nikkor

This shouldn''t be used as a portrait lens as blood vessels may show up! (a softer will help though). It replaces, without any compromise, a normal prime. Among the sharpest Nikkors. Excellent manual focus except that the front element movement when...

1. very very sharp. 2. moderate price. 3. perfect for flowers and in fact insects, yes, insects, I don''t need the 105mm macro.

1. too sharp for portrait. 2. I doubt the mechanism and precision will age quite quickly due to its complexity. 3. when focus to 1:1, the front element extension is a bit scary (3 coaxial layers sliding, gotta see yourself), beware of ruining this...

Nikon AF 60mm f/2.8D Micro Nikkor

It's a keeper in my collection but I am purchasing a Nikkor 200mm f4 Micro to get the larger focusing distance for 1:1 shots of insects, etc.

Very sharp, light weight, fast lens.

To achieve 1:1 photo the very short focusing distance cannot be used on insects. It can only be used for flowers, etc.
