The Nikkor AF 135mm f/2D DC is one of two Defocus Control lenses in theNikon lens line-up. Its characteristics are nearly identical to the recently testedAF 105mm f/2D DC which is why large portions of the review have been re-used. DC lenses allow you...

Lens Test: Nikon 135mm f/2D AF DC-Nikkor

Nikon's DC-Nikkor family is only two lenses deep, comprising just this one and a 105mm f/2. A full-frame lens, this 135mm f/2 ($1,080, street) converts to about 200mm on a Nikon D80

Nikon 135mm f/2.8 Nikkor AI-S

A fine and sharp lens with a build quality superior to most modern equipment. Works well for portraits when using film or FX format. Quite useble on DX format and relatively easy to focus on modern cameras compared to some other large aperture MF...

Excellent build quality ; High sharpness and contrast for close and medium distances ; Works well for available light portraiture ; Modestly priced on 2nd hand market

Chromatic abberrations can be distracting ; Loss of detail and contrast for distant subjects

Nikon 135mm f/2.0D DC Nikkor AF

Thought I'd bring this review up to date and reconfirm what most have already stated. This 'fast prime' remains a phenomenal lens. An absolutely wonderful piece of glass to have and use. If you haven't discovered it yet, there is something magical...

DC of course ; Excellent build quality, the built in velvet lined lens hood is a nice touch ; Fast aperture, one stop better than the 2.8's ; Fast enough autofocus ; Sharp enough to draw blood if you want

Some sample variations that were front focusing. I found two that had this problem. I don't think I would buy this lens used without being able to check for this abnormality ; Auto focus is a tad noisy if you're used to AF-S lenses ; Pro Quality=Pro...

Nikon 135mm f/2.8 Nikkor AI-S

Great little lens. I have the famous 105mm f2.5 AI-S and the 135mm is equal in performance if not better. The OOF area of the image also known as "Bokeh" is very pleasing to me. Sharpness and contrast are also good!

Sharpness ; Bokeh ; Built Quality ; Built-in Lens Hood ; Did I say "Sharpness

Non for the price I paid ; -)

Nikon 135mm f/2D AF DC Nikkor review by ddk

This has to be one of my favorite all time Nikkors and portrait lenses. The rendering and IQ of this lens is extremely beautiful and elegant. Really and amazing portrait lens even without the DC control. The defocus adds another dimension to this...

Light weight, compact telephot with great IQ, one of Nikons best

Slight CA at some apertures
