Nikon Nikkor AF 70-300 mm f/4-5.6D ED

The Nikkor AF 70-300 mm f/4-5.6D ED is one of the cheapest long focal length range Nikkors on the market. Thanks to its price, this full-framed lens design has lots of fans among both DSLR and analog cameras users.

Nikon AF Nikkor 70-300mm f/4-5.6 G

The notable thing at first sight is the plastic mount, which we don't have a problem with, but we know from anecdotal evidence that others have......

Good performance at 70mm

Poor performance at the 300mm end

Performs best at the shorter end of the range, but deteriorates as you zoom

Nikkor AF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 D ED Review / Test Report

The Nikkor AF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 D ED is one of the cheaper tele zoom optionsin the Nikon lens line-up. When used on today´s APS-C DSLRs the full frame lens hasa field of view is equivalent to 105-450mm on classic SLRs. It seems as if the Nikkor is on...

The Nikkor AF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 D ED is a very affordable tele zoom lens witha quite ambitious 300mm setting. It is capable to deliver very goodresults between 70mm and 200mm but the results are quite soft at 300mm.Lateral CAs are on the high side but...

Nikkor AF-S 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 G IF-ED VR

The Nikkor AF-S 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 G IF-ED VR is a long awaited lens by manyNikon users. For a couple of years the community looked with envy towards Canonwhere even two good quality, slow speed tele zooms are available. Interestingly some product...

The Nikkor AF-S 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G IF-ED VR may not be the Über-lenseverybody was hoping for (nor was that realistic) but it is still a very good lens. At 70mm the results are nothing short of stellar and still easily on avery good level at 200mm. At...

Response to focus issues

I do not own this lens, this a correction to complaints of other reviewers that are mistaken

This is a response to the 2 users that complained it does not focus on their D40X cameras. That is not a defect, you bought a AF lens. D40(all variants) do not have an internal focusing motor, therefore all "AF" lenses will not autofocus. This is the...

Very affordable!

Hefty lens, feels of quality!

For the price of this lens you can't go wrong! I am quite pleased with this lens. I have a Nikon D40X and this lens was a great addition. Photo's are taken very sharp and look great

I took off one egg because I'm a little disappointed that Auto Focus does not work with my D40x. Not a huge problem though, manual focus isn't all that bad. It's also tough to hold steady when zoomed in really far, a tripod would be handy when using...
