Sony LA-EA2

Simple to fit & use. Top manufactured quality. Gives economical access to Minolta/Sony DSLR Alpha lens range.

?? Adds bulk to compact camera, a small price to pay for function.

Build quality. Performance.

Fiddly to fit without getting dust inside either camera or adapter.

No image stabilization, why?

This thing is great for people the want or have to use the vast number of a mount lenses available.

A mount support

No image stabilization, noisy auto focus

Great Item "BUT"

First off I am a Sony fan, I believe that they are going in the right direction with their cameras. That being said, I bought and returned the LA-EA2 due to its lack of image stabilization and this becomes apparent as you start using longer lenses with...

Very fast - Lens extension

Very expensive - lack of image stabilization

NEXvg20

Got this for my NEXvg20, got a few A-mounts to compliment my E-mounts, i use fast lenses with noisy motors for fast paced video shots where audio is not an issue, then silent motor for close ups. A good buy for someone who uses a lot of lenses for...

Fast, alows more lense options, flawless with silent motor lenses

expensive, can be let down by cheap lenses with noisy engines

Didn't work

I bought a new copy along with two lenses (SAL 24F20Z, Sigma 150-500). With both, the electrical contacts were intermittent at best. With the Zeiss, a slight twist of the lens relative to the adapter would fix/break the connection. With the Sigma, it...

When it worked, cool

Fast focus for action and video-zooming

I had owned LA-EA1 for the mirrorless experience without committing to E-mount lens purchases. I found mirrorless-focus to be inadequate for action-shots or video-zooming. This works really well for both.

Fast focus, use of A-mount lenses

Expensive, focus motor is loud during video

AF in video : great

Great piece for vg10. Been using this for a month now. Gives extra ordinary AF from all lenses. But on video mode, only f3.5 onwards. For f1.4 prime lenses video, MF is only option. With an additional investment on a shot gun mike, the picture is...

Ease of use

For video mode AF minimum f3.5
