27mm is a comfortable field of view, not too wide not too long. More like 35mm on older SLR. Lens is very small, makes for a compact pocketable camera. No aperture ring but aperture easily adjustable via front dial on camera, not a problem.

Bitingly sharp - in practice, this is every bit as good as the primes, excepting the maximum aperture. Having owned both, it's sharper than Canon's 24-70 2.8 L. Build quality is exceptional. The focal range is extremely useful - approx. 24-85ish...

The minor criticism is its size/weight - it is a big lens in the Fuji range, but it's still smaller/lighter than the Full Frame equivalents. Laws of physics preclude it being smaller. It would be nice if it had OIS, but that would make it...

This is a great lens! I can just slip my Fuji X-E2 into my pocket when out walking. The picture quality is just stunning.
