Canon EF 50mm f2.5 Compact Makro

The EF 50mm f/2.5 macro is a fairly unexciting lens but it offers a very high performance despite its ancientdesign. The quality of the construction is fairly decent though not stellar.By today's standards the micro motor as well is a little outdated....

I do like the lens but can get some better macros using a 200mm zoom,,,,,,,,practice will make it better.

The overall product is very good,,,best to use inside though, as trying to chase bees etc etc is impossible.

Sharp lens, lovely macro, lovely nature and portraits

Sometimes it takes time to focus

Just find it exactly how I thought it would be.

ease of use and quality of image

a slightly shorter focal length might suit the sort of close focus photography this lens is best at, and leave the longer close focus lenses to do portrait-style macro work.

For the money this is a great lens to buy if you want to take portraits

no lens hood
